What was the song that started like a dirge and then the second half of each verse was suddenly all upbeat like a bad Disney tune?

Wealth, Poverty, and Morality
by SecondRateMind ini am interested in the approach this forum takes to money.
apart from sex, (which i am quite relaxed about) it seems to me that wealth is the surest divider between those who are moral, and those who are not.. it seems jesus thought so, also.
luke 16:19-31 kjv describes well enough his dusty attitude to the rich who do not succour the poor.. and this world has many poor: so many, it might seem that we can do nothing about it, and twist his words; 'the poor ye shall have always with you, but me, ye shall not have always.

God will not interfere with our freedom to believe, or disbelieve
That is a hackneyed excuse. Evidence does not compel anybody to submit.
You're basing your entire premise on the assumption that god will torment the rich who don't give away their wealth and yet you confess there is no evidence he even exists.
for those of the rich who cannot bring themselves to part with their money, let us pity them the fate that Jesus warned of in the parable of Lazarus
Why should anybody take you seriously?

It is a religious discussion forum but it isn't an echo chamber. You make assertions you should expect to be asked to defend them.
You asserted that rich people who don't give away their wealth will spend eternity in Hell.
That is sick.
You asserted that people get wealthy, not by their own hard work or skill, but by divine providence.
That is absurd.

all your wealth, however derived, is down to God's providence
First provide some evidence that god exists then we can talk about his favouritism.

JEHOVAH - The biggest racist in history!?
by stuckinarut2 inmany people like to boast about “jehovah being loving and impartial toward all”.
there are even scriptures that say words to that effect.. however, if we look at just his actual conduct and actions , and not accept the words supposedly written by his apologetic “bible writers”, the facts tell us something else!.
firstly, he chose one special nation and race of people.

Earnest - I can't work out if Russell was quoting approvingly of that article or not?
If he was then the charge of racism doesn't seem unfair does it? Or was Russell implying that the missions of Christendom were failing to make real changes in their African diciples?

But this is really a topic that deserves a thread of its own
Then why did you start the thread by threatening people who you consider greedy and uncaring with an eternity of Hell?
Theocracy - Agree with me or else - because I speak for god.

Justice will be done. So I believe
Just say what you mean. Everybody who doesn't agree with your superstitious beliefs will burn in Hell.

the reason I charge (say) three times as much as the competition, is because ...
ALL your customers stopped listening right there.
My business consultancy rates are $0.00 per hour.
As you said, 'if you pay peanuts, you will get monkeys'.

for those of the rich who cannot bring themselves to part with their money, let us pity them the fate that Jesus warned of in the parable of Lazarus, and try to save them from the consequences of their avarice - SRM
So SRM is holding up Jesus as the source of goodness - the same Jesus who, according to SRM, will torment those who remain unconvinced about his goodness in the fires of Hell for all eternity.
Your Jesus is beneath my contempt.

That was like listening to somebody explain the plot of 'The Lord of The Rings'.
