That is certainly Calvin's gospel, but not Christ's.
It was Paul's gospel was it not?
can we rely solely on christ and his sacrifice for our sins to be forgiven, or do we have to attribute our own works upon his finished work?
this video gives an explanation of the sacrifices made for israel under the law and what it meant at that time, and the sacrifice which christ made for ourselves under the age of grace today.

But the baker didn't refuse to make the cake because the customer was gay.
If the customer had walked into the shop holding hands with his husband and ordered a dozen croissants the baker would have served him — and been legally compelled to do so.
You cannot legally refuse to serve somebody because of who they are or because you disagree with their lifestyle. You can refuse to make a product that promotes something that offends your conscience.
The distinction is simple and very important.

I don't follow. Where is the hypocrisy?

blondie - No they can't. Neither can they refuse work from gay people.
However they can refuse to make cakes with messages promoting adultery, fornication, murder, rape and gay marriage.

To the four people who disliked my post — and JWA in particular.
Please could you engage in a conversation? Tell me why you disagree. Am I wrong to say that the xtian gospel begins with an assertion about the depravity of man? Will Jesus punish those who disagree? Is it wrong to summarise the xtian message as, 'love me or else'?
This is supposed to be a discussion forum. When did xtians become so shy?

Phizzy - I am interested in your answers to these questions...
ETA - I don't think the link is working but it's my post three above yours ^^^

The Christian gospel has no appeal until it can persuade you that you are thoroughly depraved.
In a nutshell Jesus' message is - 'you are a worthless piece of shit. Love me or I will torture you forever'.
The Jesus of the New Testament is like an abusive husband. The gospel is a dehumanising message.
i intend for this to be one of a series of bite-sized ops on the evidence for evolution.. introduction to dna genes are sequences of dna made up of words (codons) each of which are three letters (bases) long.
there are only four letters in the genetic alphabet (acg&t) each word or codon is the recipe for one amino acid.
there are 20 different amino acids in living organisms.
Hooby - Clicking 'dislike' is also not an answer.
Have you got time to stay online for an hour or two (while doing other stuff is fine) and engage in an actual conversation? It's impossible when you wait for days, ignore my comments and repost the same 'objection'.
Let me know when you have time and see if we can make any progress. Its 6:30 pm UK time so if you are free in the next few hours let me know.

Imagine a Christian group asked a baker — who supports pro-choice — to make a cake with the slogan 'All Abortion is Murder'.
Or an atheist group ask a Muslim baker to bake a cake with a cartoon image of Mo?
Should these bakers have the right to politely decline, or should their refusal leave them subject to prosecution?

Hooby - Page 28 and you have still not responded the challenge of the OP.
The following makes no sense from the perspective of creationism. You refusal to address this is embarrassing. Trying to assert that evolution can't account for the existence of any functional proteins is not an answer.
