i know a few family's who have left the cult but send their kids to a religious school because of the public schools teaching many times that homosexuality is ok. the bible is clear that its a sin.

No it's not helpful to children to be judgemental about what other consenting adults do in bed. It's better to teach children how to think critically then teach them what to think.

The thing is though — the genomes of the most ancient organisms like prokaryotes and archaea are not all that simple.
The real step forward in complexity was a chance event approximately 1.5 billion years ago. An archaea and a prokaryote settled on an endosymbiotic arrangement which made possible the growth of cells 10,000 to 100,000 times larger than previously.
Prokaryotes 'breathe' through their membrane which puts a limit on their size — volume increases faster than surface area. But with multiple prokaryotes living inside a shared cell, all contributing energy, the sky's the limit.

I take the view that the text does refer to eating blood and that there is a much simpler explanation why the bible's prohibition against blood does not apply to transfusions. If you have time I would be interested in your thoughts.

it seems like it's become the new religion, the new orthodoxy, that must be accepted and believed as gospel and preached to all.. is it ok to be skeptical?.
The climate has changed many times in the history of earth. The difference this time is that the additional factor of human activity is pushing the change further and faster than ever before.
I think there have been examples of fear-mongering, exaggeration, dishonesty and opportunism. However that doesn't change the underlying fact that we are in trouble.
The thing that annoys me is the way that we are guilt-tripped into making the most trivial changes 'to save the planet' when the real causes are elsewhere. China and India make our contribution to global warming look insignificant. Sometimes it feels like turning up to help after an tsunami with a dustpan and brush.
