  i will try to post a link.. jtg.. australia.. institutions refusing to join the national redress scheme are "doubling down" on the crime of child sexual abuse, prime minister scott morrison says.. mr morrison and social services minister anne ruston have warned institutions they may lose funding and tax concessions if they fail to sign up by tuesday's deadline and will be named and shamed.. "all institutions are doing in not joining is doubling down on the crime and doubling down on the hurt," they said in a letter to 25 institutions.. "we consider it to be reprehensible that you have failed to sign up to the scheme.".

  the jehovah's witnesses is among the organisations that has refused to sign up, arguing it does not have the institutional settings of other faith-based institutions that the redress scheme is designed to cover.. senator ruston is set to name the non-participating institutions on wednesday, when she will announce what action the federal government will take against them.. "we urge you to join the scheme not because of concerns about being identified, but because it is the right thing to do," the minister and mr morrison said.. "it is the right thing to do by survivors and their families and it is what every, decent, honest, australian demands.".

  Surely it can be shown that they have repeatedly broken the law by failing to report abuse in Australian states that have a reporting law.

  Viruses live harmlessly in host species for centuries. Human bodies contain many viruses, some of which are beneficial. When they make the transition to a new species - often via an intermediate such as in the filthy disgusting Chinese wet markets - they cause disease as the new host has no immunity.

  It's basic science unless you have some half-baked conspiracy theory you're too timid to share - as always.

  Removing Historic Monuments and Statues - Does the Term "Historical" Make it Right or Wrong?

  after further review and thought, i really don't see how removing a monument or statue that may be truly offensive to a large group of people is in some way rewriting history.. i think of germany or other parts of europe.

  you don't see swastikas on buildings or statues of hitler or mussolini or other upper level generals in public.

  would it be good for a person (think jewish) to drive around a city and see hitler in a public park, even though it is "historical?

  for a long time, i thought pimi (physically in, mentally in) jws were unique in their inability to simply type and read the latest "google" news results about "jehovah's witnesses " or "watchtower".

  however, it appears it is not uncommon for a large portion of the population purposefully to avoid facts...on purpose!

  Balaam - I had a similar reaction to picking up a copy of The Blind Watchmaker in the public library many years before I left the cult. I quickly realised that it directly answered all the arguments from design that I relied on.

  I put it back on the shelf and didn't pick up another copy until after I was out.

  SBF - You have ignored the words 'if you can'.

  There are genetic tests that can tell with great accuracy if and even when we will succumb to certain incurable conditions such as Huntington's disease. Many people would understandably rather not know.

  tonight there was an 8 minute segment allocated to reporting on jws regarding child abuse and the redress scheme.

  it was presented by lisa wilkinson for the project.the australian branch has issued a statement to the show advising that they will not be joining the scheme.. they state:.

  I agree TGND. JC probably existed but the Jesus of history and the Jesus of the gospels are not the same thing.
