  the situation is many of us are pima and all putting on a front, sometimes saying something we don’t fully believe.

  or at least are actually agnostic about but a hope that it’s true.. but it can be useful if someone is really going through a hard time or has something they are very worried about, to say things like well let’s hope there is not much longer of this old system.. this can be useful in an awkward situation where you just don’t know what to do or say.

  it’s a little bit of hope that can help when there is nothing else.. my agnosticism just means i won’t look back over decades thinking i wasted my life.

  You are equivocating about the meaning of the word 'proof'.

  It strictly belongs only to the realm of mathematics where it basically involves showing that a statement is a tautology. In every other field of knowledge we assess the balance of evidence. The fact that every living thing descended from a common ancestor over millions of years is as absolutely certain as the fact that the planet earth is not flat.

  If you want to argue that this is not '100% proven' then carry on but how does it add anything useful? SBF and others hide behind it to pretend that anything is equally likely.

  Dis-JW - when somebody literally won't affirm that we can know the earth isn't flat because 'epistemic humility' then philosophy has become utter bullshit.

  Evolution is a fact. Agnosticism is inappropriate. More reading is the solution.

  Agnostic is an unhelpful word.

  It is popularly used for a synonym for 'I can't decide'. Actually it is a very strong assertion that something can't be proven.

  It absolutely can be proven that all living things descended from a common ancestor by means of evolution. Being 'agnostic' about this fact is a false assertion and simply reflects either a lack of effort to acquire the necessary information or an unwillingness to accept reality.

  lloyd published a video, "things are bad," pretty much along the lines of lett's appeal for more money.. he'll have to let go tbo who does his editing, if he doesn't get more sponsor money.

  he even mentions dijana.
