Moral responsibility.
by nicolaou inno subtlety here, it's going to be obvious where i'm going with this.
please consider the following scenario.. you're seated on a railway platform bench waiting for your train.
a high speed intercity is about to hurtle through without stopping when you see a small child running to the platforms edge!

How do you determine right from wrong
Christians pretend to determine it by reference to god's words and actions. This leaves them having to approve of slavery, kidnap, rape and infanticide.
Morality by divine fiat is no morality at all.
In reality they mostly get their morals in the same way as unbelievers. From approving those things that promote the well being of conscious creatures. Then they superimpose god-talk over the top of that which leads to impossible contradictions. Socrates saw the dilemma when he posed is famous dilemma to Euthyphro.

Iriddle - the accusation against you god isn't that he permitted humans to take slaves but that he specifically taught his own people to take slaves; to treat other humans as cahttel.
Curiously the god and father of Jesus has the morals of an Iron Age goat herder.

what does anything amount to in the end if there’s no afterlife - DD
If there is no after life then this life is very precious. It is myth of life after death that allows christians to justify their god's infanticide and Muslims to fly planes into buildings.

we are under a sentence of death. We are not God's children. He has absolutly zero obligation to any of us for anything good at all. Your next breath is a kindness from the Lord - Breezy
It's almost impossible to get theists to focus on the actual question. It's not surprising since facing up to the challenge you are being presented with -rather than the one you wish you were being asked - leaves you having to admit your god is an evil monster.
NOBODY SENSIBLE is saying evil proves a god can't exist. But evil - especially natural evil - proves conclusively the the god of christian theism is a fantasy.
It is truly amazing to watch christians try to cut the Gordian Knot by admitting their god murders innocent babies without the slightest care. Except that it totally fails to solve their dilemma. A generic god might act that way but the god revealed in Jesus cannot.

I live every day knowing that if fire came out of heaven and incinerated me on my driveway, I would only be getting what I deserve.
Dehumanising death cult.

I would be interested if someone found the missing link or some other new discovery that could prove chance theory
Dozens of accessible books and 38 million academic papers describe hundreds of transitional forms (so called missing links). So far you have read zero. You have no interest at all.
Calling it 'chance theory' is embarrassing for you.
Try 'Why Evolution is True' by Jerry Coyle. You can get it for peanuts second hand and it could be understood by a high school child.

Supreme Court Decision on Free Speech this week
by dropoffyourkeylee inthis week's first amendment case has a slant that may sound familiar to jws.
most are aware that the wt won a number of supreme court decisions in the '40s related to free speech (the first amendment of the us constitution).
in particular, the flag salute case in '39, which they lost, tried to argue that not saluting the flag was a religious issue.

If it was a case of a business refusing to serve a gay couple that would be wrong. But I think it was a business that declined to help with a project that promoted a gay lifestyle. It is definitely the correct decision that nobody should be forced to use their labour to do something that conflicts with their views.

God made everything. He has every right to do as he pleases with his own creation. - Badfish
I agree, an omnipotent creator is free to be an evil monster.
But he can't be an evil monster AND be the god Jesus preached. Choose one.
Your worldview is internally inconsistent.
his ways are higher than ours
He kills infants. He approves of slavery, kidnap, rape and infanticide. His ways are most definitely NOT higher than mine.

I see people that think (delusionally) they are better than God
I am better than god. I don't murder children. I didn't write a book that promotes slavery, kidnap, rape and infanticide.
