  Killing an animal and eating its blood is a crime.
  Any Israelite or any foreigner residing among you who hunts any animal or bird that may be eaten must drain out the blood and cover it with earth, because the life of every creature is its blood. That is why I have said to the Israelites, “You must not eat the blood of any creature, because the life of every creature is its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off.” - Lev.17:13,14

  Finding a dead animal and eating its unbled flesh is not a crime.
  Anyone, whether native-born or foreigner, who eats anything found dead or torn by wild animals must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and they will be ceremonially unclean till evening; then they will be clean. - Lev.17:15

  Please explain the difference Fishy and reconcile it with Deut 14. Don't just keep repeating the same phrase out of context.

  Designing a world that inevitably blows up and randomly kills millions of its inhabitants is not something an all-powerful and loving god would do.

  Either he is a bad designer or a sadist.

  Either way he is not the god of christian theism.

  Ok you are obviously struggling so here is a clue.

  Look at the context of the three texts. There is no contradiction.

  Lev.11 is about clean and unclean food. It says that if a clean animal dies of itself it becomes unclean. Obviously it can't be bled but there is no mention of blood in this context. If the animal's owner buries it he becomes unclean by touching it. If he eats it he becomes unclean just the same. There was no penalty for eating it or burying it. Being unclean was not a crime. Having sex with your wife made you unclean.

  Deut.14 is a restating of the same law given after the wilderness years. Again there is no mention of blood but Moses encourages the people to sell the dead animal to a foreigner. This doesn't nullify the former law but provides an option that avoids unnecessary uncleanness. Similarly the priests had additional laws that went beyond those that applied to the rest of the nation. They had to make special effort to remain clean to serve at the Tabernacle. Among these additional restrictions was that unlike everybody else eating an animal found dead was not an option for them as it was for everybody else.

  Lev.17 is about blood. Please read the chapter in its entirety and notice the clear contrast. If an Israelite killed an animal and ate it unbled that was a serious crime. If he ate an unbled animal fond already dead that only resulted in being unclean until the evening.

  There is no possible reason for an omnipotent loving god to booby-trap the planet and violently kill millions of the humans he claims to love. To claim otherwise without offering a sensible reason is dishonest.

  The verses you quoted do not invalidate Numbers 15:30,31, It stands

  Num.15:30,31 says that anybody who wilfully breaks the law must be cut off. It says nothing about blood. Not one word,

  There was no law against eating an animal found already dead as I proved with the quotes from Lev.11 and Lev.17.

  Therefore Number 15 has no relevance to the subject of blood.

  If an animal that you are allowed to eat dies, anyone who touches its carcass will be unclean till evening. Anyone who eats some of its carcass must wash their clothes, and they will be unclean till evening.   There was NO LAW against eating unbled meat of an animal found already dead. None at all.

  It resulted only in temporary ceremonial uncleanness exactly the same as if you had buried the dead animal - or had sex with your wife.
