I would recommend doing some research from unbiased sources to try to find the answers
I did. The facts do not seem to support the narrative of racism.
i think everyone has the freedom to protest, they also have freedom of speech, these are two fundamental things that make america amazing.
but thinking rationally about what is going on with the nfl, therefore, i have an unfavorable opinion of the league, and the players, not their right to free speech, but their motive and execution of it.
constitutional freedom to protest ends at the workplace door too.

Why is police brutality against African-Americans more worthy of attention than police brutality against white Americans? The USA seems to have a problem with too many unsuitable police officers in general.
Can you imagine the outrage if the nurse who refused to take a blood test without consent had been black!

Nothing but virtue signalling by some of the most privileged black men in the USA.
the modern history is full of deep, dark tragedies.
and, my intention, as i sat down to write of those tragedies for a fb page i look after for a macquarie university student society, was to tell the story of these very dark contemporary events.
but east asia history is complex and i think its helpful to try to have an overview of that history to understand what has happened in the recent past.
Thank you.
north korea has taken president trump's recent statements as a declaration of war.
pyongyang reserves the right to shoot down american planes even if they are not inside their airspace.. i listened to trump's speech to the un with dismay.
it demonstrated a total lack of understanding of his enemy and the inevitable consequences of inflicting personal insults on kim jong-un.
Hothead well done in hijacking a serious discussion on a potential world crisis into your personal platform to act out.

You believe the thing to do is to ask china to fix this problem and I don't think so. - Hothead
I never said that. Do you actually read what other people say?
I DO find it funny you bring up how much you read in nearly every post.
I never do that. Very occasionally I will mention a book I am reading if it is relevant to the topic. I prefer facts to opinions. I really appreciate others who bring facts to a discussion.
You can carry on getting your opinions handed to you by loud-mouthed talk radio hosts and living in a thought bubble. In ten years time you won't be ten years more experienced - you will have had the same experience ten times.
if you get the chance, watch this documentary:.

substitute the name kim jong un for the governing body and it's exactly the same!
Thanks for the link Pale-Emperor.
NK is a cult of personality. Kim Il-sung and, Kim Jong-il are still objects of veneration long after their deaths.
Notice how uncomfortable the youths were when they met an American, it was like a JW realising they had been having a nice chat to an apostate that they are supposed to hate.

Hothead you epitomise everything that is wrong with modern politics. You identify with a tribe and lose all ability to think objectively. Your age won't be an excuse forever.
You live in a bubble where the same ideas are recycled endlessly. You cannot tolerate criticism of your ideology or of its leaders and spokespersons. You show little interest in understanding the nuances of difficult issues or grasping how there are strengths and weaknesses on both sides of a debate.
I despise Kim Jong-un but not primarily because he hates the USA. I have a lot of respect for the USA but I am convinced Trump is a dangerous idiot. You need to put me in a box with a label so you can criticise me for opinions that I don't hold.
Yes I do read a great deal of books. Odd that you should use that fact as a reason to ridicule. If you want to understand NK and how we got where we are today and how we might avoid a catastrophe you need to value information more than you value your colloquial political affiliations.
If you actually want to learn more about the history and political philosophy of NK I suggest "North Korea - State of Paranoia" by Paul French

I have no idea what you mean. Is this something you heard on Talk Radio?

Man you are way too serious. - Hothead
Provoking a nuclear war that would result in tens of thousands of civilian deaths is as serious as life gets.
you are falling under the progressive myth that Obamas NK policy was all that great.
You know absolutely nothing about my view of Obama's foreign policy.
I support Trump doing something else even if that something else is a war that can still be fought without nuclear arms.
The human cost of a war even without nuclear weapons will be counted in tens of thousands of civilian deaths. Anybody who supports Trump making personal, childish insults under these circumstances is naive or a teenager or both.
Don't you? or are you on the "call china"-team?
China has started to respond. It has banned companies doing business with NK and conducting financial transactions. NK desperately needs fuel and food subsidies from China. Foreign aid is part of the DPRK economy. There is a difficult balance to be found. Can Kim Jong-un be tamed without triggering the collapse of the regime? Who can blame China for not wanting a failed state on its border. Of course China has itself to blame. NK was totally defeated in the Korean war before Mao committed hundreds of thousands of troops. He sent Nationalists who had opposed him in the Communist Revolution so he didn't care how many died in Korea as long as Americans were dying. Russia also prolonged the war in order to damage the USA.
am I only allowed to feel patriotic about things that happened during my lifetime
Trump's incompetence is nothing to feel patriotic about. I am broadly-speaking a big supporter of the USA in international affairs but your current commander-in-chief is an embarrassment to you.
