My JW Elder Brother Passed Away
by minimus inhe was basically a good man, just a believer in the religion.
when we were both elders we were best of friends and then things deteriorated when i was not an elder for a while.
then after becoming an elder again, i slowly drifted away from the religion and he drifted further away from me.

Wealth, Poverty, and Morality
by SecondRateMind ini am interested in the approach this forum takes to money.
apart from sex, (which i am quite relaxed about) it seems to me that wealth is the surest divider between those who are moral, and those who are not.. it seems jesus thought so, also.
luke 16:19-31 kjv describes well enough his dusty attitude to the rich who do not succour the poor.. and this world has many poor: so many, it might seem that we can do nothing about it, and twist his words; 'the poor ye shall have always with you, but me, ye shall not have always.

You thought you would parade your virtue on a religious discussion forum. Turns out there were people here who challenged your politics, your economics and your theology and you were unprepared to defend any of it.
If you come back try showing a bit more humility.

So you are offended by me calling you a sick bastard but it's okay for you condemn everybody who disagrees with you to eternal torment - all the while you hide behind a facade of phony politeness? Nobody should tolerate arrogant people like you threatening them with eternal torment. What could possibly be more offensive?
Typical obnoxious evangelical xtian behaviour.

Moses, the prophets, Jesus, and all conventional Christian denominations assert the same
Viewing those who don't agree with your superstitions as worthy of eternal torment makes you a sick bastard. Blaming Moses and Jesus is no excuse.

You quoted the dead carpenter's words as your authority - have the balls to own what you said.
let us pity them the fate that Jesus warned of in the parable of Lazarus, and try to save them from the consequences of their avarice - SRM

I just think we should help them out, right up to the point where we would become equally disadvantaged, if we gave any more
No you don't 'just think' anything. You assert in the name of god almighty that rich people who don't follow your edicts will burn in Hell for eternity.
Stop hiding your hatred behind phoney politeness.

JEHOVAH - The biggest racist in history!?
by stuckinarut2 inmany people like to boast about “jehovah being loving and impartial toward all”.
there are even scriptures that say words to that effect.. however, if we look at just his actual conduct and actions , and not accept the words supposedly written by his apologetic “bible writers”, the facts tell us something else!.
firstly, he chose one special nation and race of people.

If individuals get wealthy due to god's providence then those dying of hunger must also put the blame on divine providence, which makes your god a moral monster.
Why should humans be held responsible for clearing up his mess?
That way, we develop the necessary virtues, which He can reward
So the starving masses are moral commodities that exist so that wealthy xtians can get rewards.
