i've been doing lots of research on beliefs, evolution, creationism but i feel no further forward about what i truly believe.
for example i looked at the fossil record and tiktaalic and thought great it proves a lot but then i've seen counter arguments on youtube of people basically saying its a load of rubbish and doesn't prove anything.

This is a classic example of creationists who are either too dim to understand the science or who just don't care as long as they can twist it to fit their superstitions.
Perry has raised this before and I have explained it in some detail. It in no way challenges evolution and totally destroys creationism. I am not going to bother explaining again here because Perry won't bother to read it and in a few weeks he will dishonestly repeat the same bullshit.

I don't believe In the bible anymore, I am more looking for scientific answers to life/creation/evolution so I can hold my ground on why I dont believe in the bible.
It takes time and effort. I feel able to refute every argument ever made by a creationist and respond to any objection to evolution but I've been reading science books for over a decade. Watching YouTube videos are of very limited value and there will always be those plausible-sounding creationist videos that seem to have merit. The people who make those creationist videos - just like Perry - have never read a science book in their lives.
If you are serious about learning you need to commit to reading. Don't be in a hurry.

Our X and Y chromosomes contain genes for all sorts of things apart from reproduction.

If animals were unisex, then how could some cells decide that it would be better to form a penis? For what purpose? Because in other animals cells were mutating to form vaginas and they would work together. But those cells can't communicate so how could they work that all out? - Ratty

Perry when you are trying to find support for your anti-scientific superstitions try to find sources written in the last few decades by people actually working in the appropriate field. Dentists are scientists but their opinions on evolution are irrelevant.
