Something like a Universalist Church. Intellectual freedom is crucial and you can be part of that church while not having to believe anything literally.

I am a proud Jehovah's Witness Defender
by Matthew Jefferson inmy name is matthew j and i have just ended my study with the jehovah's witnesses.
no, i did not stop studying because i believe the jehovah's witnesses are a 'cult', i left due to the minor beliefs that i hold that remain separate from the organization.
i called my elder who is still an amazing man and great counselor, affirming that i do not wish to continue my studying.

I have had my heart warmed and soul blessed
Where did you learn to talk that way?
Not all Jehovah's Witnesses are exactly alike
Of course not. But they all have one thing in common. They all pray every day for the violent annihilation of billions of innocent men, women and children.

I was an evangelical christian for 9 years after I left the cult. I was convinced I was born-again, saved, forgiven, son of god.
In retrospect it is all subjective experience based on wishful thinking, peer pressure, group think, emotion and confirmation bias.
You searching rolliepollie?

Hello rolliepollie, welcome to the forum.
I see no evidence of any sort of deity.
1 - The history of life on earth could not be better designed to maximise suffering.
2 - 'Natural evil' makes it utterly impossible that a loving and powerful god exists.
3 - If a deity exists he has taken great pains to remain completely hidden.
4 - There is nothing about the physical world that can't be better explained without resorting to the supernatural .

Hi Matt welcome to the forum.
The flaw in your position is that you know literally nothing about the organisation apart from what they have deigned to reveal to you as an outsider. You are now in the company of experts. Listen and learn.

Anyone know of elders talking private KH matters to wifes?
by Tobyjones262 ini knew of several elders who would tell their wife's everything that happened in a committee meeting.
he is still and elder and very old but i doubt he has changed.
we used to call him.

Yes we had a very prominent elder who shared all confidential matters with his extended family and saw no problem with that. He was later deleted leading to all-out civil war.
There are still things I haven't told my wife even though we have been out more than 24 years.

Has there been a published scientific rebuttal to the APA's study? - unsure
Yes. The vast majority of peer-reviewed studies contradict the paper's foundational position that gender differences in personality traits are social constructs.
I listed some accessible books on the topic earlier.

Crofty?????? The Patriarchy is a myth? What are you smoking? - dog
It's Cofty.
What is this thing you call the 'patriarchy'? Despite the shrill slogans of third-wave feminism it does not exist in the western world.
