  i believe in rational explanations for everything, whether they are understood yet or not.

  medication used to be considered 'magic' until understood how it worked.

  on the subject of telepathy, for me it's very subtle but has happened many times.

  blondie - Good point. There are so many clues that we receive without even being aware of it. Body language, transient facial expressions, hesitations etc etc. Most communication is non-verbal. Some people are better than others at picking up on them. There might be a gender bias there in favour of females but I'm not sure if there is data.

  The other thing is that we are very good at noticing the things we get right and forgetting the many times we miss clues or make wrong assumptions — confirmation bias.

  As soon as somebody says ‘quantum’ the conversation has bottomed-out. Quantum effects are what happen to particles so small a neuron or synapse looks like a planet by comparison.

  You haven't seen the complaints that Rachel is referring to but you assert they have nothing to do with JWs attitude towards the authority of men over women.

  Rachel has declined to engage with your argument from ignorance and you claim that is reason to lack confidence in the authors.

  i was wondering if there was any policy from the cult about your own blood in you cut your finger and put it in your mouth out of reflex ect.

  what if any is the position of this?

  i always thought the amount of blood is not the real issue, even a drop would be a sin?.

  The burden of proof is on those who claim there is a factual basis for 'supernatural' events.

  Attempts to uncover objective evidence has so far failed 100% of the time. It is not open-minded to reserve judgement on the supernatural. It is obtuse not to be deeply skeptical.

  By the way, the mystery of why there is something rather than nothing is not the topic. The 'something' operates by consistent laws. Admittedly we don't fully understand those laws but that doesn't leave room for woo-woo.

  Intuition is nothing more than the way our brains subconsciously take short-cuts through data we already have available.

  Read 'Unweaving the Rainbow' by Richard Dawkins for a useful treatment of the subject.
