  leaving neverland the micheal jackson documentary was just released and i must say watching it myself left me pretty disgusted but not necessarily surprised.. being that there is two accounts given by two separate boys, men now, leaves the impression that their stories are truthful and factual.. what one can take from this story is that mj was a megalomaniac that thought he had the power, money and personal stature to get away with just about anything he wanted, this included pedophilia with boys.

  i wonder if the over oppression restrictive nature of being brought up a child in the jws religion had an effect to his loose out of control behavior of a super rich celebrity ?.

  his celebrity status and wealth really came to him when he was a pubescent young boy/teen, money in such a huge amount made anything he wanted or could afford possible.. personally i think he was inherently gay and had pursued arranged marriages to protect his perceived public image, a pretentious act which was mostly devised as a money and business endeavor .

  Thank you for that OC. Looks like both positions are a myth and gay men are no more or less likely to be attracted to children than heterosexual men.

  so i was talking with my husband about all the things the organization is doing ie.

  hiding pedophiles, lying about what 1914 was etc.

  so his response was that the nation of israel had times when they weren’t doing the right thing, but it was still gods chosen organization.. another topic we were talking about was disfellowshipping.

  It is the way that followers of every totalitarian regime rationalise the things they know are wrong. Either the evidence becomes too much — and everybody has their own threshold — or something happens personally that makes them wake up. Often is is hurt rather than reason that makes the difference.

  when i was a faithful jw i was pretty much obsessed with the mormon religion.

  to me it was like lord of the rings.

  i knew the characters, the history, the events, the joseph smith stories, the religion's history etc etc etc and i long suspected even then that the watchtower society has been copying certain things from the lds church.. for example, the first thing i noticed was when the book study was dropped and family worship was started.

  I think you are right PE. I wonder how they will package the compulsory personal donations when it happens.

  Perhaps it will begin with a pro-rata obligation from each congregation — unconnected to building loans — so that the congregation is obliged to make up any shortfall.

  Since the ratio of hetrosexual males to heterosexual males in the population is greater than that it means that gay men are over-represented among pedophiles. As the authors are right to point out this does not mean that most gay men have a propensity to pedophila.

  No adult takes an unrelated child into their bed for innocent reasons.

  By the way lots of celebrities are bad people for all sorts of reasons. Of course it is sensible to separate the person from the art, but a predatory pedophile is too much.
