  on april 15, 2019, total of 18 jehovah's witnesses in china were arrested and charged with indictable offences relating to, "using an evil religion organization" to "incite the obstruction of law enforcement," and one charge relating to, "obstructing law enforcement by organizing and using an evil religious organization.".

  I knew how it worked and I knew the weaknesses of the committee members so I kind of took control of the kangaroo court and succeed in causing them a lot of anger and frustration.

  It was satisfying I suppose but I would strongly recommend that anybody who is 'invited' to a JC respond with a non-negotiable 'go fuck yourselves'.

  Are Witnesses advised not to get into discussion’s about evolution with HH?

  just before the last memorial, i finally had a witness call with an invite ( i say finally because i haven’t seen anyone in the d 2 d preaching work for going on 5 years!)..

  i wasn’t particularly prepared ( it being early and me still in my nightie!

  ) but i managed to collect myself and said i didn’t think i wanted to go since i discovered the scandal around the un.....and i outlined the facts.. jw: oh no i don’t think so, where on earth did you read that?.

  iwantoutnow - You are right religion has been responsible for all of that but I actually think that we would have had those things with or without theology. Religion probably served a useful purpose in the history of humanity by binding groups together.

  Religion is about myths we tell each other. Some have been useful and others were designed to oppress and control.
  

  My objection is to the habit christians have of confusing dogma with reality.

  The Roman Catholic church put the brakes on human progress for centuries. You have heard of the 'Dark Ages' haven't you?

  It was the Enlightenment thinkers we have to thanks for science, reason, human rights and freedom. Those things were achieved despite Catholic dogma.

  Carry on being obnoxious by the way. It's a great advert for faith.

  I attacked your pseudoscience. Man-up.

  I have never once taken offense in 10 years on this forum. That isn't my style. I was discussing ideas, you and some of your fellow christians replied with personal attacks as usual. It's a sure sign of insecurity.

  Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking to refrain from personal attacks I am just pointing it out. The strongest criticism of religion is to observe christians dealing with contrary facts.
