Can this be true: GB to court - NBC ??

is this a bad joke or "fake news"?.

nbc new york is claiming "attorneys are expected on monday to announce the filing of lawsuits in king's county supreme court against eight members of the governing body of the jehovah's witnesses for alleged child sexual abuse claims.".

Alex - Of course it's true that there are a few 'bad apples' in every organisation.

The problem with the Watchtower is different. Among law enforcement and child welfare organisations all over the world it has gained a reputation of being worst possible example of how to endanger children. For lots of reasons it has created a perfect haven for pedophiles. Legal settlements has cost the organisation eye-watering amounts of money and now for the first time individual members of the GB are going to be held to account.

It will be fascinating.

Questions About the Watchtower's View on Blood Transfusions.

i admit to not being very well informed about the watchtower's view on blood transfusions.

i have a couple of questions that i hope someone here is able to answer.. i understand that the watchtower now considers it to be okay to receive blood fractions.. my first question is: are all fractions considered to be permissible?

and if not, specifically which fractions are not permissible?.

Funerals

has anyone given a thought about what they would like for their funeral one day?.

I heard of a way of doing funerals that appeals to me. The undertaker takes care of the cremation privately and returns the ashes asap. Then family and friends get together and do their own thing with nobody presiding over any ceremony of sermons. Just go to a favourite place to scatter the ashes and have some food and drink and remember.

The EU would blink first but they will be putting their hopes in the the anti-democratic cowards in Parliament who will plot to block Brexit by any means necessary. It's all going to go down to the wire.

Of course not. If he bears any responsibility it is far more subtle than that.

He could take an uncompromising stance against illegal immigration from Mexico in more professional terms.

Ultimately the blame all rests with the racist with the gun.

I agree with Pete Zahut. If all media outlets voluntarily agreed to never mention the name of a gunman it would reduce the frequency of mass shootings.

As for Trump, I think he issues 'dog whistles'. Sooner or later somebody will respond. I don't think for a moment he approves of this incident but his language is careless.

Henry II once said 'will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?'. Four of his knights rode off and murdered the Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Becket. Henry was mortified. Words have unintended consequences.

I agree with the OP.

I've done a fair bit of reading about North Korea, Stalin's Russia, Mao's China, Germany's Third Reich, the Salafist Caliphate and post-revolutionary Iran. Totalitarian regimes have many similarities with each other and with the Watchtower.

The most basic thing they all have in common is the pursuit of a utopian fantasy at any cost.
