SBF - I have never suggested there isn't a problem nor that action isn't necessary.
That doesn't change the fact that environmentalism has become a secular religion complete with dogma, apocalyptic hysteria, utopian fantasies and messianic leaders.

I am skeptical on the human portion. What caused the large changes in times past? - road to nowhere
I think the problem is that natural forces that drive climate change are being pushed higher than ever before by the additional factor of human activity.
If environmentalists would just admit this simple fact it would be a great start to communicating the actual problem.
But the reality of climate change is NOT the topic.

panic might be an appropriate response, depending on how serious the situation is .. I have growing suspicion that it is a huge problem and it may be too late to fix - SBF
So no point in panicking then.
Moralising is precisely the problem that I am talking about in the OP. Environmentalism is the new secular religion and already has many of the hallmarks of a cult.
evolution is how we got here.. demonstrate that you believe that all species evolved from a single cell over/within 3.5 billion years by tapping "like" below.. demonstrate that you believe in special creation by tapping "unlike" below..
You don't deny evolution do you Vander?

Vander - why did you post such a facile discussion? Please tell me you are not impressed by that creationists bullshit ' questions'
I assure you that trivia is NOT ' an atheists nightmare'.
You do know that the vast majority of Christians accept the fact of evolution?

I'm surprised Greta can't walk across the Atlantic.
SBF - what we should not do about climate change is to indulge in fear- mongering and moralising.
It needs only facts and clear-headed decision making that balances environment with prosperity.
It has been hijacked by ideologues.

Please don't let this thread deteriorate into a debate about whether climate change is real.
Read the OP please.

Ironically the environmental movement is fundamentally anti-capitalist and yet an increasing number of major companies are dishonestly using 'green' issues to sell their products.
Disclaimer - I do believe climate change is a reality and that human activity is a significant factor.

Does believing in cell to man evolution require faith? - Vander
No of course not. That is an old canard that creationists use in order to pretend science is no different from religion. Only somebody who has no knowledge of the facts could take refuge in such a facile idea.
