I totally agree. My point is NOT about justified protest against police violence. It is the uncritical way the entire world is lionising a deplorable human being.

Black communities will fight to the death for black victims even if they are deplorable human beings. She is spot on.

Sea Breeze - Humans have suffered for around 200,000 years and in all that time god has watched passively. Much of that suffering has been caused by decisions God made when he created the world - the natural world is perfectly designed to maximise the suffering of conscious creatures. Thanks. If I was still a believer I would have thanked god for a miracle and not wondered why he let me get ill in the first place or why he didn't heal others. He can't lose really.

I can honestly say no. Not even a few years ago when it looked likely that I was dying of metastatic cancer (I'm sorted now) it didn't occur to me for an instant to pray or think about an afterlife.
There are atheists in foxholes.
