Matt Ridley and Alina Chan's book Viral lays out the evidence. He is a sober, mature science journalist.
It is the greatest scientific 'accident' in history and the mainstream media couldn't care less.
(event 201).
“event 201” was an exercise organized in october 2019 to simulate what might happen if there was a severe pandemic.. it invited people from business, government, and public health to simulate coordinating a policy response to a theoretical pandemic.. .
what was the event?.

Ironically it was probably an attempt to be prepared in advance for such an epidemic that caused it.
The world outsourced the gain of function research to China who carried it out with a criminal disregard to safety.
I have not the slightest doubt that Fauci et al knew what was going on - at the very least they took a 'don't ask approach.

after being around this site for 21 years now, i've heard many recount their stories and feelings.
many times i can immediately relate but other times they seem to have had a very different experience with the church.
i'm sure that is because not only are all of us different in personality, but congregations and family dynamics vary as well.
That faithful slave is the channel through which Jesus is feeding his true followers in this time of the end. It is vital that we recognize the faithful slave. Our spiritual health and our relationship with God depend on this channel.” Watchtower, July 15, 2013 p. 20-21
Which, from the perspective of the author is to say ...
I am the channel through which Jesus is feeding his true followers in this time of the end. It is vital that you recognize ME. Your spiritual health and your relationship with God depend on ME.”
Or...
“We need to guard against developing a spirit of independence. By word or action, may we never challenge the channel of communication that Jehovah is using today. On the contrary, we should cherish our privilege to cooperate with the slave class.” Watchtower, November 15, 2009 p. 14
Again, the author actually means..
“You need to guard against developing a spirit of independence. By word or action, may you never challenge ME. On the contrary, you should cherish your privilege to cooperate with ME.”
This is just two of hundreds or thousands of similar quotes that demonstrate deliberate manipulation and control techniques. It is deliberate and cynical.

I don’t think they purposely try to control people - SBF
That might be the most naive thing I have ever read.
Every time they write abut themselves in the third person and stress the importance of obedience to 'The Faithful and Discreet Slave' they are deliberately and manipulatively controlling their members.
Can you begin to imagine the level of hubris that is required to talk about yourself in that way?
I have not the slightest doubt that their emotional and mental control, that for many JWs last years after they leave - is 100% intentional.

Excellent thanks for the link
10 " any israelite or any alien living among them who eats any bloodi will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut him off from his people.
12 therefore i say to the israelites, "none of you may eat blood, nor may an alien living among you eat blood.
15 'anyone, whether native-born or alien, who eats anything found dead or torn by wild animals must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be ceremonially unclean till evening; then he will be clean.
the penalty for eating a dead animal was washing your garments
Does that sound to you like the penalty for a crime?
DEATH was the penalty for disregarding the law on blood!
Having a wash was the PROCEDURE to become ritually clean. Exactly the same procedure if you buried the dead animal. Was that also a penalty?
Procedures for cleanness were also requires after having sex or giving birth. Was it a crime to make love to your spouse or give birth?
And yet the Watchtower does impose the death penalty on children!
Come on you are more intelligent than to fall for that facile reasoning - surely!
Kill and eat an animal unbled and YOU DIE
Eat an animal found already dead and YOU WILL HAVE A BATH
acts 15 has an interesting backstory (and textual history) that has been touched on elsewhere so here i will only say, the purpose of the section, and much of the book, is to re-envision the history of the early days of xtianity.
the deep schisms, (some might say even different origins) are made to appear superficial and inconsequential.
this theme contiues with the choice of two 'prophets' from jerusalem traveling back to antioch to share with paul and barny, named judas (yes another one) and silas.
Very interesting. I find textual criticism fascinating. Bart Ehrman's lectures on Great Courses are worthwhile.
As JWs we were woefully ignorant of the history of the text.
put this under entertainment since it did doesn't come under anything wt...i listen to a lot of videos while working and even though i figured this fellow would have things to say i wouldn't agree with there may be some valid points and i think there are.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l17znqbezni.
Thanks will listen to it this evening. Jewish rabbis often make more sense than Christian preachers. They seem to at least have more epistemic humility.
jehovah's witnesses run to the book of james staying that faith without works is dead.
they completely ignore the teachings of paul and hold onto james.
.. it would appear that there is a contradiction between james' teaching and paul's teaching, yet the bible tells us to rightly divide the word of truth.
