Masks block droplets not aerosol - covid is an aerosol virus. Coughing and sneezing is only a problem if you are very close to somebody with the virus. The problem with covid is breathing the same air indoors. Normal surgical masks do almost nothing to block covid. Cloth masks do absolutely nothing.

First the experts told us not to wear masks because they are totally ineffective against covid
Then they weaponised fear, locked everybody indoors and shut down the economy
Then they opened the economy and invited everybody to go back to work and leisure
But everybody was scared shitless
Then they said don't worry - you can wear a mask
Then they said wear a mask or else!

Talked to JWs Today at a Cart Stand

they were positioned in a walk way and i had to go right pass them.

i tried to keep walking but my legs went straight to them like they had a mind of their own.. they pointed to john 17:3 on how to get saved.

I have felt tense while talking to JWs on occasions. Before they all went hiding from covid I used to talk to them frequently in Edinburgh. I find the best results come from being really relaxed and friendly on approach and introduce humour when possible.

I've had some good long conversations. At other times my sole objective has been to make them pack up and leave which is also satisfying!

Elders are no longer teachers

back in the day when i was a young witness lad, you very much got the impression that at least the training as theocratic teachers was good.. even the bible reading back then had a short introduction and conclusion.

you had to research and prepare your own ministry school talks and then perhaps you would graduate to a half of a 55 minute public talk.

then later if you were a book study conductor, you got to decide which scriptures to read and highlight.

I actually have memories of Thursday evenings that were quite good fun. Elders and others were appreciated when they used their initiative and invented entertaining teaching methods.

they identify themselves as the 'faithful and discreet slave' - that alone requires an astonishing degree of pride.

but what is even more amazing - arguably to the level of insanity - is the way they then use that phrase to elevate themselves above the rest of the organisation.

My advice would be to ignore Sea Breeze's advice.

He has made the same mistake I made when I left the Watchtower. I assumed the fundamentals of my faith must be true and spent 10 years as an Evangelical Christian.

Far better to take all the time you want to really dig deeply and learn all the things about the bible, faith and science that you have been denied previously. There are many people here who can help you with all the questions you might be wrestling with. Don't 'jump out of the frying pan into the fire'.
