Does anyone actually believe that Russia blew up its own gas pipeline?

the claim that russia blew up its own pipeline functions, whether intentionally or not, as a test of our collective intelligence, and it’s worrisome how many fail the test.

as a former pentagon official put it, “a child could tell you that doesn’t make sense”.

they talk a lot about russian propaganda and suppression of their media, which i don’t doubt for a minute.

The complicity of mainstream media in official narratives in recent years is the biggest danger to freedom. Suppression of free speech is being codified into laws. Sadly Scotland is leading the way in some respects. It's heartbreaking to see what has happened to the cradle of the Enlightenment.

There are rumours (no more than that at present) of journalists being arrested for reporting on the train derailment that has led to huge chemical contamination in Ohio.

the have a syndicate (governing body) regional bosses (district overseers), captians (circuit overseers), and elders are their "made men" that enforce policy at street level.

if you run your mouth too much, they wipe out your whole family (disfellowshipping).

Mafia bosses don't live on tiny stipends, live in strangers' homes 5 nights a week and depend on voluntary gifts.

I find it impossible to take the mythical Jesus hypothesis seriously.

Richard Carrier et al get very angry about all evidence to the contrary.

Erhman , while very willing to shed Christian dogma is still reluctant (to say the least) to consider the possibility that there was no Jesus

Not only has Ehrman considered the possibility that there was no historical Jesus he tackled the evidence in detail and wrote an entire book on the subject.

PP - I was listening to a lecture by Bart Ehrman on this very topic yesterday.

I am persuaded that nobody thought of Jesus in divine terms during his lifetime, neither did he make any such claims.

Jewish monotheism was more nuanced than we may have thought for the reasons you have outlined above. It was this background that made it possible to take the first steps after Jesus' death that ended in belief in his divinty.
