  I asked you how you arrived at your rejection of biological evolution and you volunteered the fact that you had never read a single book on the subject because they are all 'long and complicated'. How am I twisting things exactly?

  they are so sure they have found the truth?

  That is the heart of your problem. There is no 'TRUTH' there are only 'truths' or facts and data.

  It's up to every person to weigh the evidence and take account of the things that can be known when constructing their values and purpose in life.

  You have it back to front. You begin with a worldview that includes god and ultimate salvation, and then filter the facts that you will admit based on whether they support or challenge it.

  It is ultimately more satisfying to accept reality for what it is and find value and purpose in life.

  Cofty - ExB - serious question. What books are you basing your knowledge of biological evolution on?

  Ex-B - I haven’t read any books on biological evolution, but I do read a lot of books on many subjects and I think you shouldn’t need to have long complicated books if it could be proven then we evolved then it would be easy to prove through the fossil records

  I have not read your specific books on biological evolution

  But I haven't mentioned any specific books. You just said you haven't read ANY. A few days ago couldn't name one.

  I have spent hundreds of hours studying both sides of the evolution creation debate. I could present the case for creationism and Intelligent Design better than anybody here. You have admitted never reading a single science book in your entire life. Stop projecting.

  By the way I guarantee you haven't read the book you are recommending.

  putting this under "friends" because i couldn't figure out where to put it.

  it is very often on here and in ex jw videos, ect that people like to undermine some of those who once we would have called friends.

  there seems to be a view that window washers, plumbers, cleaners, construction workers are somehow less intelligent than those who may be college educated.

  try telling that to scotland's tourists and many island communities: the ferry services are dying month by month, and the two new overdue & over-budget ferries justify a serious legal/criminal enquiry.. any bunch of incompetents who can't provide a small country with a ferry service and a legally binding contract to build 2 new boats - having controlled scotland since 2007 - has no credibility in claiming they could run a country!.

  We never had any influence or control. The EU parliament is a sham. DC begged them for a few concessions in order to head off a referendum and they told him to F Off.

  Americans, imagine you joined a trading group with most of North, central and south America. A few decades later it has a flag, anthem and proposing and army. It is dictating many of your laws and financial policies including an incredible number of petty rules. It demands open borders within the group and directs immigration from outside.

  It openly states that its aim is total political Union. You are given an opportunity to leave but it will cost you in the short to medium term. What do you decide?
