The only *great* *football* players that I ever heard of is Pele and Beckham. I don't know though?? I did'nt watch either of them play.

Joeblow, I don't understand the dirty playing. It just looks like they are all trying to kick the ball. I haven't seen anything dirty. The only thing that seems bad is that Italy and Paraguay are playing in the rain.

Zombie dub thanks for letting me know what was causing the "noise" *vuvuzelas*. I never heard of them. I kept asking my daughter "What is that noise".

It was a bad game, not all games are that boring, don't you ever have boring american football/baseball/basketball games?
My husband doesn't think so!

Crownboy thanks for posting the Fifa rankings. It looks like Brazil is the team to beat? But, I don't know?
Joeblow, I remember the infamous head butt made by a French soccer player. I, only, remember it because it made the news, not because I was watching the game.
Keyser, they don't seem to score very much. England and America tied with a score 1-1. I guess it's like joeblow said "just watching them run around"? And I thought baseball was bad. . .low scores. . .players can't hit the ball. What's all the excitement about?

Too Much Coffee

I am so glad to read this. Because coffee has recently started doing the same thing to my heart. It also irritates my bladder very badly. Just this week I stopped making any coffee. My husband makes it on the weekends. I had one cup yesterday. Too much. I had about 1/2 cup today. That's all I can tolerate. I've drunk coffee for 32 years. But not anymore.
When I was working nights, I could drink coffee all night. It's just in the last couple of years that I have become so sensitive to caffiene. I think it is because I'm postmenopausal.
4- Stress hormones are elevated by caffeine consumption
The
levels of stress hormones like adrenaline, cortisol, and norepinephrine
are elevated by caffeine. These hormones cause an increase in the heart
rate along with blood pressure, which results in a sense of “panic
response”. Oxygen to the extremities and the brain is reduced, and
there is a suppression of the immune system. The
objective of this “panic response” normally is to provide a temporary
boost of energy during an emergency when there is a necessity of
fighting or fleeing. However, with the sedentary lifestyle of today,
the artificial elevation of stress hormones due to consuming coffee has
negative effects on women’s health, especially in post-menopausal women.http://www.nowpublic.com/health/5-ways-caffeine-makes-menopause-worse

I don't know much about soccer, other than most of the players have nice tushies.
I did happen to notice that. They really are in good shape!

Well, mkr32208, my husband doesn't care all that much for soccer either. He's just waiting for the NBA play-offs to come on. My daughter was watching the World Cup today; and I don't know why? Maybe, it has something to do with the movie "Bend it Like Beckham"?? Anyway, she knows a little bit more about it than I do.
