Sylvia, I'm glad to hear that your daughter is still in college. In my case, one twin got a two year degree for interpreting. She now works for the public school system. The other got tired of college, she just wanted to pioneer; so she went through a pharmacy tech program at a popular pharmacy and works as a tech there. She says the job is very stressful. My husband and I are very unhappy about her dropping college. My daughter believes that she's "serving the greater good" by being a pioneer. Alas!

Hello Shirley, thanks for remembering me! Hubby hasn't needed a blood transfusion in awhile. For awhile there, it seemed like he was getting blood and iron transfusions every other month. The twins are still faithful dubs. The "Faithful and Discreet Slave drivers" are running them down. They get sick a lot. I can't say anything about it or they'll get mad. Right now, my skin is clear (knock on wood), no signs of Psoriasis. I just have to keep myself away from stress. Anyone know how to do that? Hello Dinah and Sylvia, it's been too long. I hope that you've been well. What's been going on around here!?

I just want this to stop!
by mrsjones5 inas some of you know my husband became ill and we lost our house in indiana.
my parents offered to help and although i really didn't want to do it knowing that my parents have limited resources i really didn't have a choice.
i also wanted to come back to a place that was familiar and where most of my family and friends are.

My after surgery symptoms. Normal?
by horrible life ini had minor surgery this past week.
did have general anesthesia.
graphic, memorable dreams.. i want to eat all of the time, especially if it is sweet.. wake up not groggy.

Sometimes surgery messes with your hormones, especially, if you had a hormone producing organ/gland removed. I was very kooky after having a goiter removed. The surgeon said that I wouldn't need thyroid medications. When I went to my endocrinologist, she said my thyroid hormones were very low. I was started on Synthroid immediately. Needless to say, my surgery was botched. I ended up having two additional surgeries after my thyroid gland was removed. One the very next day. I developed a hematoma/seroma and was rushed right back to surgery. No wonder I was having trouble breathing. . .and then, during that surgery, my lung was intubated and I developed a tension pneumothorax. I was sent to ICU because no one knew what was going on. I woke up on the ventilator and I thought that I had woke up in surgery. . .that was very scarey. Then when I went home, I still had trouble breathing. I then found out that both of my vocal cords had been injured. I had to have a trach for about four months. One cord recovered the other had been cut; so I have a paralyzed vocal cord. My breathing, speaking, and singing will never be the same.
Yeah, get that checked out.
You just never know!
P.S. I think that I developed anoxic brain injury to a certain degree due to going into respiratory failure ; so this explains why I'm so crazy.
