i have also been informed that they are the happiest people on the entire earth.. my problem is this:.
when a jehovah's witness comes to your door and you actually decide to give them a few moments of your time they never give the whole story as to what you would be getting involved with when you join the watchtower.. case in point.

larc you are right in a sense that the Watchtower dident actually say that:
Armageddon will occur in the region of autumn 1975.
Does weeks or months not years equal region?
But let me continue to bring forth the evidence.
Exhibit B...
WATCHTOWER, 15/8/1968, P494: Article heading -" WHY ARE YOU LOOKING FOWARD TO 1975?'
From the above quote my point is verified.'ADAM CREATED AT CLOSE OF "SITH DAY' Are we to assume from this study that the battle of Armageddon will be all over by the autumn of 1975, and the long-looked-for thousand year reign of Christ will begin by then ? Possibly, but we will have to wait to see how closely the seventh thousand-year period of man's existence coincides with the sabbathlike thousand-year reign of Christ...It may involve only a difference of weeks or months, not years.'
I said in the region of autumn of 1975 and here is the proof.

This photocopy is really about the generation change in 1995.
But its significant realtes to the fact taht 1975 was said to be a marked year and since in feel within the 1914 generation life span it was implied that the end would occur around then.
I have more solid proof further down the thread.

she was in general just a kind sweet grandma type woman.

Until I recieve independant conformation for the entierty of this presented information I will continue to catogrize this document as propaganda bearing in mind that anything protraying the Watchtower Society in a positive light and especially appealing to the emotions sympthy/empathy cannot be trusted.
There are no references to source documents. The opposition is not adequately represented. The Watchtower Society was never once protrayed in a negative light while the opposition was catagoritically villified and it is quite apparent that the aim of the document was to involke sympthy/empathy for the Jehovah's Witnesses.
This fits my definition of propaganda.
An appeal to emotion without proper representation of facts.

Need help with 607 date & false prophet scr...
by Leander inin about 2 or 3 weeks i'll be stepping down as a ms and leaving the wts for good.

Not like i'm an expert or anything though.
But as far as I know witnesses dont usually care about false prophesy verses in the Bible.
You should know that that particualr issue is one of the first that witnesses are innoculated against so it really wont make an im pact.
If I were a witness who was stepping down the front page would have on the UN scandal because there isnt a comeback for that one. But with false prophesy theyll just call it 'mistaken expectations'.
Not saying that they wouldent be moved by reading photo copys of old watchgtower articles with 1975 and other dates set foward.
If you wanted verses about false prophesy all you have to do is randomly open the bible any where in the new testament and you'll find them.
But good luck though because you'll need it.

But you have to wonder though, what will she do with this information?
I only bring up things that the witnesses cannot disprove.
The beauty of the UN scandal is that th Watchtower has NO REASONABLE excuse. It is blatantly hypocritical.The Watchtower cannot discredit the guardian because it has quoted from them many times. It cannot launch a preemptive stike because they dont want any witnesses to find out about it in the first place.
What happens when you break down the barrier of information controll?
People start to ask questions.
What happens when people start to ask questions and get the shaft?
They start to doubt and ask more questions.
Then start the long road to recovery.
I just cant imagine why they would shoot themselves in their foot like that.
