OMG I'm so glad I faded! If I would have had to sit though a whole 45 study praising that piece of CRAP that the new song book it. I would have to gone to the bathroom several times to be sick. Shows they are REALLY having issues with people not liking it. That NOW they do a whole article praising it. "here you're all brainwashed anyway.. you will like it, cause we said you should like it!" lol Glad to be out of there...... Thank you Blonde!! I aways wait til you summary comes up to call home, incase they asked how the meeting was. "oh yes, I especially loved the watchtower study on the new crap...er beautiful song book" hahaha.. You're sooo appreciated Blonde!!

Who or What Helped YOU Get Out Of The Watchtower Mindset?

For me it was when a known married sister to an unblieving mate (Dfed) starting dating another singler brother before her divorce was final. No one asked the DFed husband if the adultry accusations were true. and when a sister. well little old me trying to point it out and expose what was going on. I was chewed out by and elder and EVERYTHING was covered up. She was a friend of said elder. To this day it bugs me.. later I started questioning thing, and bout the whole "blind obiedience" thing didn't sit well with me. how the accounts report were read and always seemd to have a deficit, even though there was like 3 grand in the bank.. (am I the ONLY ONE that did the math in my head and heard that??) I don't even think they read teh accounts reports anymore. I haven't heard one in like 6 months. I was told I just missed those thursdays.. I doubt that. I think the clincher for me was when I heard the Nasa and teh missing day urban legend relayed from the platform. Everyone sat there with amazed looks on their face. I was just annoyed cause it was obviously BS. then I stumbled across the REAL year of Bablyons distruction and the whole thing came crashing down.

Basically they now know organizms can live in toxic enviroments. Apparenlty some microb on earth, can live and thrive of arsenic. which mean if something on earth can do it, they need to broaden their definition of life for other planets as well. basically they threw out the "carbon based life form", and were forced to redefine life it's self. it's a pretty big finding I think.

this is a gravy job.

) everyone sucks up too the cook.. 2) if someone miss a meal due too oversleeping or his or her job.

when I toured it the tour guide expained how short the breaks are, and you must shower and dress to eat in teh dinning room. So they offen had friends bringing food to them while they stood at their machine. and ate there. NO seconds, no snack machines that I saw. The brother that gave the tour said he often dined out and brought food in off site. LOL he didn't seem to like the food. If you miss your lunch your out of luck is what I gathered. cause everyone seems to have an assigned seat.

from a discussion i had with an active sister this past week.

they had no "issues" with accepting the new generation understanding at all, she said.

all the brothers agreed with the reasoning, apparently there were no protests, murmerings or complaints.

What I don't get is how they don't SEE, that no matter what the generation teaching. According to them Christ has been enthroned as king for 100 years now....and yet no paradise in sight. What king/president or whatever you want to call it. Sits down and plays tiddly winks for 100 years before he starts activly ruling. It makes no sence what so ever! and even the there day equals 1000 years in heaven. Then that is a really freaking long time to do nothing.

there's already a couple of threads discussing this particular issue of kool-aid version of the wt, but i just had to start another after reading about the creative days mentioned in this issue.. we debate from time to time if the wts has ever officially retracted their doctrine that the earth and all things created are less than 50,000 years old.

there's been some quotes that show them waffling on the age of the planet itself but still sort of holding to the notion of all creation happening within a defineable 7 day period.

how long is a creative day?

wow all those years of my childhood, arguing with my science and history teachers about creation...and now this. I guess they can't argue with FACT anymore, shame that it now makes everyone's actions prior see STUPID.

Why does the organization respect some cultures and not others specifically American?

okay, i am trying to wrap my head around this and it just does not make any sense.

i could not think of one "american" tradition/culture that is "allowed" by the society.

heck even football is frowned on.

Oh I noticed too. They just want to control, and keep you contained living in a sheltered box, doing their bidding. Holiday's lead to association, which leads to learning it's all a big lie. Which leads to leaving. Hence why they are shunned.

I toured the farm once.. and I remember seeing all the big crates and stuff labeled WTF. (Watch Tower Farm) but I thought it was VERY aproproate!! and anyone who thinks that place isn't really a sweet shop for brainwashed, hasn't been there!

started reading a few things in magazines again cause my mom is harping on me about the new jan 2011 watchtower stating that jw's are only true religion.

then i found this quote in sept 15, 2010 wt page 13 para 8.

I've heard this said before. and it was one of the first (many first things) I called into questions. They repeatedly say the watchtower isn't inspired. So if it isn't INSPIRED OF GOD, how can it be the voice of God? Isn't that the same thing? Silly stupid people!
