about 2 weeks ago i met a guy online, we chatted on the phone one evening and had a good conversation and aranged to go on a date this friday coming.. since then i have heard almost nothing at all from him!
i think about 2 texts and thats it!
in one of the texts he hints that he would like to see a picture of me "wearing alot less".
Not sure this guy is worth the dating sound a dodgy, but if you do decide to go keep it casual maybe met for coffee and have an exit strategy in case the date goes bad e.g. get a friend to text or phone part way through so you can use the call as an excuse to leave if you need to.
Also make sure people know where you are and who you are meeting just to be safe.
Remember dating should be fun and you only get better with practice.

I was slandered by my so called JW best friend and why was it tolerated, because ultimately the Elders didn't care whether it was true or not. Her step dad was an elder, while mine was an unbeliever I didn't stand a chance.
Why did she do it because we both liked the same brother at the time and she wanted to make sure I didn't stand a chance. Mud sticks and my reputation was trashed I was heartbroken at the time.

i am so thrilled to find this forum.
it is such a relief to know that all of us 'apostates' are normal people who had the nerve to question what has been crammed down our throats.. i am 4th generation ex-jw with family members at bethel, doing missionary work, and pioneering.

The Elders in our Cong knew we didn't get on with relatives in the same Cong and that the husband was desperate to be made an Elder. We had reservations about this relative being appointed which we had previously aired in confidence. However, this wasn't enough, the Elders hounded my husband for dirty on the family until in the end he told them to get stuffed. We may not get on, but we were not about to invent dirt just to please the Elders.
The relative is now an Elder and knowing what I do I am sure he will fit in perfectly.
To add a twist to this story the Elders have since told my relatives that we had made accusations against them re his appointment as an Elder causing a great deal of unnecessary friction in the family. They obviously left out their involvement although I am sure my relatives know how much they are disliked.
Magwitch I am truly sorry for your lose and treatment just proves what these people real are like.
