this was always one of the main justifications for me in leaving the wt behind.
i was just wondering how many of you have ever reasoned in the same way.. i have often wondered how jesus christ would react if he came back to the earth now and how he would view the organisation who claim to represent his standards?.
would jesus really want to be associated with paedophilia, false prophecies, shunning, the destruction of families, lies, untruths, hypocritical leaders and the lack of love amongst members?.

the watchtower has been known for over 130 years as a great scriptural cherry-picker.
they pick out disparate unrelated verses and combine them to support the wackiest of wacky doctrines.. on the other hand there are many scriptures they almost never address, whether because they contradict wt doctrine or because they simply don't have a clue what they mean or how to spin them to the wt advantage.. one of these is revelation 19:1 that mentions a "great crowd" "in heaven.
" the only time it is ever brought up it is dismissed.
MJW - Still not offering anything other than B.S. I hoped that you'd have some real historical facts....that's not the case though is it?

according to 6 children [aged 10 - 16 years old], jesus's mother, mary has been visiting them everyday for over 28 years [these 'children' are now 38 - 45 yr old adults and preach the good news of the gospels everyday].
that's what folks say.
the official position of the catholic church is still under investigation.. anyone familair with this story?.
Does anyone have an opinion about it or been there themselves. Probably not a big topic on this site, eh?

I agree Sylvia, YHWH is all of God and that includes Jesus and the Father, who is a different person.

Also, again, if Jesus was not refering himself as YHWH, why were the Jews wanting to kill him?

PSacramento wrote- God is the term we use when referring to The Essence of YHWH, when we think God we think ALL the God is.
Jesus is YHWH. He is part of YHWH. He is not the Father, we all know that as Jesus prayed to the Father, but he is the Word. The Word is YHWH. He gave up his perogotives of being equal to God to become the man Jesus Christ. Son of Man, Son of God. That is why he taught that we are to be baptised in the name of the Father, the Son and Holy Ghost. Scripture does not say the name of the Father, the name of the Son, the name of the Holy Ghost. There is one name for the three. So I must disagree with your analogy.

Well said PSacramento! Sorry for repeating what you agreed with.
So, does anyone still think that Jesus didn't refer to himself as God? I wonder...

The bottom line is that the translation has purposely been altered to represent the beliefs that the Watchtower would have you believe. This is certainly not what the apostles taught. There is proof positive that ego eimi never equals I have been. If it were a remotely reasonable that I have been could be considered accurate, then why were the Jews going to stone Jesus?!
