Hi StAnn, I am not familiar with the Tridentine Rite Parish, but it certainly sounds like it would make the MadJW madder.
My re-embrace of the catholic faith did not involve rcc, but rather a family members trip to a place called Medjugorje in Bosnia. It cascaded into several family members making the same trip and the whole family [,aside from the JW sibling with his family] returning to the catholic faith.

I thought so too, [that JWs wouldn't go for catholism], but there are many that have a very catholic view.
For the record, I'm a catholic and I have never been a JW, but my bro was baptised JW some 20 years ago or so and he always would tell me how he'd eat catholics, protestants and mormons for lunch.
And for many years he had me stumped with his well worked out sales pitch. I was the typical catholic insomuch as I believed that the catholic church was the truth, but once he started throwing scriptures and meanings at me , well, I was not prepared to defend my faith and I certainly failed in seeking God's will. Although he got me to abandon my catholic faith for several years, I still never believed that the JWs had the truth. I dunno, but from the get go I never got a good feeling from them. It was later confirmed when my brother didn't help to tend to our grandmother before she died. Then couldn't go to the funeral. Then the same thing for 2 other grandparents. Ofcourse such choices led to heartache for our parents [and still contiunues today...damn, he's dumb].
Later, I had a very personal gift from God that prompted me to read scripture [as well as doing many other things] and then, after some time, I could answer his questions with an amount of confidence. Later, as I started reading some of the church fathers positions I knew that they very much favored the catholic position and had written extesively about their beliefs and practices.
Ultimately, the more well read one is on the bible, the early church and the beliefs of the church fathers, the more likely they would drop the WTS and embrace Rome...obviously imho.
respecfully,

hell explained by chemistry student.
the following is a question from a university of washington chemistry mid term exam.. the answer by one student was so 'profound' that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :.
bonus question: is hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?.
I'm certain that I've just had my mind blown.

Plankton?!? How many pages of this BS are you trying to fill?!? You have filled nearly14 out of 16 with your own posts. Jeshe kid, get a life will ya?

It is a very interesting thing to say the least. For the life of me I cannot understand how/why people can control other people so effectively and easily. Even before the internet the contidictions of the WTS are so overwhelming that I often think 'how can you continue to believe this "truth"?'
ei- Soul is mentioned in scripture some 900 times and has numerous meanings. How could you possibly believe that you could sum up what the soul is with one scripture verse? Jesus most certainly declares himself as God [john 8;58]. The Jews around him were going to stone him for blasphemy. John 1 In the beginning was the word. Not in the beginning the word was created, no, it was already there and the verse that says the word was a god. Come on, did I read that in the book of a john?
Not morons, just easily controlled.

Oh Plankton,
Once you change a few words in the bible then the door is open to change 'em all until it really does say what you want it to say.
won't you ever learn?

how and whom forms the great apostasy?.
is it not true, that for one to apotasize from the true faith, he/she would have to have first to have fully known the truth of the bible; such as in the case of judas iscariot who deliberately betrayed the master knowing full-well what he was doing?
would it not also be true, for any of the twelve apostles, had they have followed the lead of judas, it could be said of them, that they had apostasized?
The idea that there was an apostasy is quite common among groups that have limited history [hello Mormons and JWs]. Lots of 'look around and you can see', but never any proof. There is plenty of proof that there was no apostasy though....plenty.
