has anybody heard an official reason that the trinity brochure is deceased?.
the gb have been released basically new versions of old brochures with wild abandon, and yet the trinity brochure which has absolutely no equivalent is no longer in print.. why?.
we all know there were dodgy references/quotations therein, but you would think by now the gb would have put some effort into a viable replacement if it were posssible.. nobody seems to be making too much of this as far as i can see.. the trinity brochure was very naughty.

One example of dishonest journalism must be the referrences to the early church fathers. The SYBITT brochure states that
all the church fathers agreed that Jesus was not God. Too bad for the WTS that the opposite of what they state is true with plenty of easily obtainable written evidence.
What arrogance! The SYBITT brochure is looked upon much like the NWT. As a joke that only a cultist could defend.

Tricker in WT publication !?!?
Wow, that's an understatement! I'm still not over the out right lies in the "Should you beleive in the Trinity" booklet. Not trickery, but blatant lies.
Trickery? If it were trickery we'd all have a laugh....it would be as if the WTS wasn't a cult...but we know better, right?

it appears so (may you all have peace!):.

I know an atheist who worships boobs. Seriously, God [don't believe], boobs[ worship].
Not me by the way, although I've been known as a boob man.

i know you've answered this question before but which book do you recommend be read first --- combatting cult mind control (ccmc) or releasing the bonds (rtb)?
.
thanks.
True story from yours truly,
I know Steven Hassan and have for over 15 years. We lived in the same neighborhood in greater boston and met during a beer and bbq that residents were having in the parking lot that we shared.
He told me his story over beer and grilled tuna and I thought to myself 'jeesh, this guy's too much', from being brought up Jewish and then converted to the moonies and then being rescued and then had to be deprogrammed and etc, etc..
The next few months after meeting him I'd see him in the parking lot and exchange pleasantries.
Maybe it was a few months later that some nitwit in california had his small cult group kill themselves to catch the passing spacecraft taking them all to utopia. These poor people all wore nike sneakers for the trip. Later that night, who's on nightline, but Steve Hassan. As I was swilling a beer that streamed out of my nostrils "that's my neighbor Steve!" I shouted to my friends [had a bachelor pad at the time].
I saw him again several months later with a newfound respect for his accomplishments and we spoke often. I asked about my brother and the JWs. He told me that it was a cult. I said that my brother was happy and that's what mattered. He simply refered me to his book [combating cult]. I asked how he knew and he rattled off several control techniques that high control groups use. Foolishly, I didn't read the book.
Any way, it took years for me to realize how correct he was way back then. He gets alot of print here I see.
Stevie! if you're out there, I hope you're well!
Too bad about Brad D. Remember seeing Beatlejuice at JohnyDs?

i am just curious about this because although i agree with many of the posters here that the wt society is guilty of many horrible deeds, i still believe they are right when it comes to doctrinal things as i mention.
especially hellfire.
i just don't see how anybody that has studied the bible for many years like many of the ex-jws here can make an about face and go back to believing hellfire.
Hmmm. I am not an ex JW, but I am a bible believer.
First off- Jesus spoke more of hell then he did of heaven. He warned of an eternal hell. Remember the parable that the kingdom of heaven is like a king who settles accounts with his servants. He first deals with a man who owes him 10,000 talents and was unable to pay. When the man could not pay the master declared that he and his family would be sold off as slaves to repay the debt. The servant begged the king for mercy. The king felt pity and cancelled the debt out of his mercy only. Then the forgiven servant found another that owed him 10 talents and demanded to be paid. The other servant could not pay and the servant who had received mercy threw the other servant in jail. When the king heard about the servant that he'd forgiven he was angered. The king called the servant 'wicked'. The king seaid 'I cancelled all your debt because you begged me to. Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?
Jesus ended the parable saying that 'In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he shgould pay back all that he owed. This is how the heavenly father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart'
See? Jesus says that the father will treat the unmerciful harshly.
just saying,
respectfully,

peace, and love to you.
we are all in this together,to some, we're birds of a featherhowever, no matter what they say,we'll continue to watch, fight, and pray.

I believe Syl!
I'm not ashamed to say that I believe that the Holy Bible is the word of God.
I believe every word of it, yet not in the 100% literal way, but in conjunction with science.

i do, every few months and the dreams are terrifying.
i had one last night and the demons grabbed me as usual and instead of shouting out big j's name like i usually do in these dreams (not out loud mind you) i shouted instead ''get away from me satan'' ha!.
i don't believe in either but obviously my fear of demons growing up as affected my subconscious into adulthood (i'm 40).
Aside from childhood monster dreams, I have had 2 demon/devil dreams in the last 10 yrs. I am in my mid 40s. And they were terrifying being a grown up and not being in control as I often am when I dream.
I, on occassion, am lucid and aware that I am dreaming during dreaming, probably like many others too.
My first demon dream occured shortly after being 'born again'. I had it in me to pray for others much more than I had ever before and in my zeal of praying for others[ and in obvious ignorance] , I added the fallen angels to my prayers that they may also be redeemed and forgiven. ...........................That night I had the strangest dream and was shown many images of things over vast periods of time. I cannot remember the images of that dream, but I certainly remember the feeling. Dread.. I understood none of it except that such prayers were an offense to God. I stopped immediately such prayers.
My second demon dream occured after reading a book called 'Hostage to the Devil' [Malachi Martin] which contained 5 or 6 stories of recent documented demonic possession. He, being a writer, spun a very spooky read. I had a dream during that book where I witnessed a seemingly decent fellow get given to Satan, and Satan took him into a room and came out a few moments later with this man being turned into two seperate beings as like his soul was split in two and one body could walk and the other body being led like a servo motor control would be the speaking part and it repeated over and over 'what have you done to me?, what have you done to me?' This fellow looked like a futuristic nazi genetic nightmare gone bad. Once he had caught a glimps of himself in a mirror, he shreiked in me like nails down a chaulk board. Shortly after this shreik, the two bodies were changed into 2 german shepard dogs and I was made to understand that this was a blessing for this man. Better than eternity with Satan.
Those were quite creepy to me.
