That`s why they seemingly have an answer for everything ,they can pick and choose how they answer a question because of the many flip flops.
Smitty3
just a thought and perhaps this has been discussed before but no jehovah's witness ever actually dies in the truth.
pick a year, any year.
if a jw died in say 1920 or 2020 or whatever...the doctrines change so much and so fast that what is "truth" today is "untruth" the next within this religion.

The Truth is what ever the WTS says the Truth is.
IE: The men [and women] of Sodom and Gomorrah are saved, or not saved or are saved or are not saved.
Doesn't matter to the masses I'm afraid. The WTS [and Awake and Watchtower by extension] is the Truth, even more so than the bible that is preached as the Word of God
so what is your favorite crazy or most damning watchtower?
i can think of a few but one i went out and bought the bound vol for was the 1984 the generation that will not pass away.
.
Should you believe in the Trinity was a crazy booklet that was taken out of circulation because of its blatant lies and distortions
watchtower february 15, 1981, pages 16-19 .
do we need help to understand the bible?.
true, the brothers preparing these publications are not infallible.
Hmmm, how about the people who gave us the bible? Wouldn't it make perfect sense to ask the people who gave the world the bible for direction in it's meaning?
If I were to ask a person about the book 'Insight into the scriptures', should I ask a Mormon or a Muslim or the WTS? Of course, it's a WTS book. They would be the best to direct me to it's meaning.
If I want to know about the bible, I ask the folks who gave the world the bible. Sorry, but it's the Catholics
guess what. Not the WTS
let's put first things first.
ask the average bible reader to name the prophets.
easy peasy!.
Waton, I agree that a fallen angel [dark spirit] can/will lie, but I do not think that a prophet of God or a mouthpiece of God has ever lied in the scriptures.
of course, we know that this isn't true for the self proclaimed mouthpiece of God aka the Watchtower

Was there ever a prophet who used theocratic warfare?
Just asking
i was thinking of how witnesses were always admonished to take care of their own before they should ever help a worldly neighbor.
i don’t think they ever do anything for the community unless it’s a benefit to them..
I always hear about the love that they have for each other, in their own cong,
Hearing about love for your neighbor, the enemy? ..not so much
my name is matthew j and i have just ended my study with the jehovah's witnesses.
no, i did not stop studying because i believe the jehovah's witnesses are a 'cult', i left due to the minor beliefs that i hold that remain separate from the organization.
i called my elder who is still an amazing man and great counselor, affirming that i do not wish to continue my studying.
5 pages of BS, stop the insanity now please...
jesus's apostles were confused by some of his sayings.
they didn't understand the true sense of what jesus was trying to tell them about baptism.
"no one'', he said, ''would get the true meaning of this scripture until a modern day "organization" in the 21st century rises up and reveals the truth.".
My bad Rules and Regs.
Of course, now I see that it was tongue in cheek. I am so jaded on this site that I think everyone is engaged in 'theocratic warfare'

Rules and Regs - Yes, I was a bit cheeky, but not tongue in cheek.
John P- You are indeed correct that I have made a mistake. Clement of Rome was a disciple of Paul, not Peter. My bad. Other than that, I believe my claims are correct.
Have you really read their writings ? or have you just read 'Should you believe in the trinity' booklet and that was your source of their writings? Just asking because It's not a legend that those anti nicene fathers were directly taught by those apostles, historically speaking, Clement of Rome was the 3rd bishop of Rome after Peter, then Linus. it's a historical fact. Over 30k of written pages preserved from the early church that , of course, do not have the authority of the scriptures, but do have the authority of history.
I am currently reading Four Witnesses -The Early Church in Her Own Words by Rod Bennett
Check it out on Amazon. Hundreds of 5 star reviews, one 1 star review..... from a JW.
Check out another book The oldest book written of the early church 325ad History of the Church written by Eusebius Pamphilus
Eusibius writes that Clement is indeed one of the workers with Paul who 'labored side by side in the gospel' and 'whose names are in the book of life'
admittedly, I am a novice on my scholarly research. We are only as smart as our sources. I now know that out of the 40k or so Christian denominations, that 39,999 were started by men [and] or women. Only one was started by Christ Jesus and commissioned by Jesus to spread His gospel Mathew Ch 28
The Great Commission
…18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of allnations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”…
