New World Translation is not much different other translations
except that no scholarly council, college, university, board or organization considers the NWT a legitimate translation.
key scripture 2 timothy 3:16 should have been translated as “every scripture inspired of god is also profitable for teaching” like many other serious translations (such as american standard version ; douay-rheims bible etc) as it is what the greek text says.. this is in harmony with the contents of bible and also with the writer paul himself who knew after his departure ‘even from his own number men will arise and distort the truth.’ (acts 20:29-30) for example, verses such as romans 7:19 is such distortion.
such verses cannot originate from real paul who was “holy, righteous and blameless.” (1 thessalonians 2:10) hence paul had the freeness of speech to tell others to be “blameless” like him (1 thessalonians 5:19-23; ephesians 5:24) there are many things in the scriptures which are not inspired such as words of satan, words of job’s wife and his false friends, words of judas, lot’s daughters …etc.
apostle peter never disowned jesus because if he had done so, his contemporaries would have interrupted him when he rebuked jews, saying: “you disowned the holy and righteous one and asked that a murderer be released to you.“ (acts 3:14) his listeners would have asked him “what right do you have to reprove us for ‘disowning jesus” when you yourself have done it first?” all such verses or accounts were later adoptions.

simple.. you cannot find the word there (or many of the comical variations such as: a triune godhead, the triunity, co-equal god beings, godhead, a hypostaic union, divine essences, divine natures, a god-the-son, a god-the-ghost, hypostasis, homoousios, perichoresis , a godman, omnipresence, incarnation, a god who is a sacred mystery, a god 'in three persons', dual natures, a reincarnate god, a first person of the trinity, a second person of the trinity, a third person of the trinity, godness, a tri-unity or a multipersonal god), or any of the so-mentioned aspects.. jehovah identified himself (not 'themselves") as on one god, as did jesus and all the prophets.
.
so, come, let us know of the simple twists of the clergy!.
99.9% Christianity accepts the trinity. I wonder why?
NO I don't..lol
highly illuminating video.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkhdyhmolmw.
i thought these bible cryptologists were all nuts.
this guy changed my mind..
Never checked scholarly sources for information on the formation, propagation and reasoning for why and how the scriptures were created and historically have been used?

i’m reservations, pimo elder.
i’m in no position to leave the organisation, maybe some people will see that as weak or whatever, but we have to all go down our own path in life.. i would like to be able to wake people up in my congregation, how do you think best to do this?
any ideas?.
The same way that everyone else does. You set the example with actions always...sometimes add words too..

alright this has been in my brain lately: both catholic church and the orthodox church has been around for about 2000 years, shouldn't they know how to practice christendom correctly by now?
jw hasn't even been around for 200 years and yet they say they do it right.
so silly of them.
On the one hand, you have the
Catholic Church started by Jesus and His chosen apostles.
On the other hand you have the
WTS started by Charles Taze Russell
hmmm, you may be on to something...
many jws (and others) are serious about their biblical studies, but don't ask the right questions.
in basic journalism one learns to ask the right questions which in my years here, i've never hear asked.. who, what, where, by what help, by whose help, why, how and when.
these are all basic questions when researching anything that you want to write an article or paper on what ever related subject.. who wrote/created the bible?.

Who wrote/created the bible?
What is the bible?
Why are there only 66 books in the bible (why not more or less)?
How were the scriptures used in Christ Jesus's time?
many that have come to this forum have left the jws religion and moved on with their lives but from a outsider's viewpoint what do think makes the jws religion wrong or incorrect as a active christian faith ?.
somethings come to mind such as its long continuous end times/armageddon soon doctrine which has really been a core doctrine for decades going right back to its beginning .. maybe they should have adopted the stance as other christian based faiths and adhered to jesus's own words when he said " no one knows of the time not even he ".

Its like Russel wasn't really a well studied bible scholar/theologian but a turn of the century charlatan.
Bingo Rocketman. Ever hear of Russell's 'magic wheat'?
here is an interesting discussion about how christianity probably began.
hierarchical political interest may have been involved.

Polycarp claimed to be a disciple of the apostle John, yes. I don't accept that claim and I'm skeptical of it but that's what he said. He told some story about him and John fleeing the heretic Cerinthus in a bathhouse in Ephesus.
Anyway, I don't take those 12 claims as facts, which is the problem we're having.
How about Clement of Rome, Ignatius of Antioch, Irenaeus of Lyons or Justin Martyr? Do you accept any of those writers? They all write about the early church and the widely accepted facts of the time and reference the biblical 500 witnesses. There are literally 10s of thousands of written pages [intact] of early Christian writers from the 1st 3 centuries of AD Their writings answer many of these questions.

remember when nixon resigned?
the big a was here some said.
remember 1986 and the "international year of peace and security?
Armageddon is coming for you.
No one gets out alive.
And when you die and stand before the Lord for judgement, believe me, it will be the end of the world that you currently live in.
Worrying about everyone on the planet dying and not worrying about yourself dying is a most interesting mental syndrome.

as a rule, there are 3 types.
one is the dramatic over the top person where a hangnail means you might have to get your finger cut off.. the second type is —who me, worry?
i’m not going to let too much of anything bother me unless it really is armageddon.. the third type is the person in between.
Actually, there are only 2 types of people
1-alive
2 dead
