  Some Questions About Jesus

  It is as unlikely as anything else for a man to claim to be God..... [sorry, but Jesus not only claimed to be God,but he also never disputed anyone else's claim either] ,,,,that aside.

  I have to think that a myth would have been weeded out during the first torture sessions.

  Instead, 2000 years later people are still believing that a man claiming to be God died for the forgiveness of our sins. Right this second there are Christians being killed for worshiping Jesus.

  How is this belief still alive I ponder aloud.

  Sofia and star make comments about youngsters getting baptized.

  Then whole JW baptism is another wacky thing to me. Nothing like a Catholic baptism which is at least scriptural.

  Really, you must study for a baptism?

  Really, you are NOT baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost?

  Finkel nailed the biggest one to me or any other bible believer. And that is that Jesus's 2nd coming has already arrived. He arrived over 100 years ago.

  Scripture is quite clear that EVERY EYE WILL SEE.

  Proverbs says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. I think it reflects more of an awe of his embodiment rather than a fear of wrath.

  That Jesus came for 144000 and everyone else should be a JW to be forgiven of their sins.

  Also that these same 144000 do NOT need to be Jewish, Male or VIrgins.

  The good book says otherwise

  A lot more than ONE scripture trashes the WTS . A comprehensive listing is quite overwhelming proof texts to contradict most all of their teachings.

  There are I believe in revelation verses stating Jesus as [all three] alpha and omega, the 1st and last and Jesus is the beginning and the ending.

  I do believe all three verses are in revelation.

  'Theocratic Warfare' - Do you know when and where it started?

  we all hear this notion of "theocratic warfare", and how it is used to justify jehovah's witnesses to lie or withhold the truth even under oath, based on the reasoning that we don't owe the truth to those who aren't entitled to it.

  but, can we put our finger on where this doctrine started?

  Removal of Tetragrammaton from Early Greek Manuscripts

  a while ago i posted on another thread that i had been told by some witnesses that the tetragrammaton had been in the original christian greek scriptures but had been removed when apostacy came into the church .

  i did not know where this came from at the time .however while looking something else up i came across this .as i could not find the original thread i have started a new one .here is a quote from nwt reference edition 1984 :-.

  " matthew made more than a hundred quotations from the inspired hebrew scriptures.

  If there was a great apostasy in the early church, then how could you trust the bible to be God's word when the final collection of biblical books were confirmed around 393ad?
