"Mediator - only for the 144,000?"
Why does this keep coming up?
Because it's a new concept that is nonsensical.
New? Like only since the JWs proposed it as a dogma.
here’s a couple good ones: a. jesus said, “come to me and i will give you rest”.. why did jesus command us to go to him and not jehovah?.
why does the bible say that the name of jesus is above every name?

That said, more scriptures that don't fit WT [and some peoples'] theology include
Jeremiah 17;10 New International Version
"I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve."This passage says that the Father searches hearts and minds.
1 Corinthians 2;10 New International Version
these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.This passage seems to indicate that the Holy Ghost searches the heart and minds.
Revelation 2;23 New International Version
I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds. This passage says that Jesus searches the heart and minds

Can we change the opening topic from 'Scriptures that don't fit WT theology' to 'Scriptures that don't fit WT and Blotty's theology"? lol
Blotty, I think you need to check out what the scriptures actually say opposed to what you have learned through questionable sources. Please see below the passages of John 14;17 that I got from biblehub. This is a listing of numerous bible translations from scholarly sources. They do not list the NWT nor does any other scholarly sources because that translation is not 'the most accurate translation' by any means.

Blotty, I am only listing scriptures that are in keeping with the tread. If you want to open a trinitarian tread, I will reply.
That said
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
This says that God [the Father] dwells in believers.
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
This says that HE, the holy ghost, dwells in believers.
I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.
This passage says that Jesus dwells in believers.

Who raised Jesus?
New International Version
Paul, an apostle--sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead.
and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead--Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.
These 2 passages say that God raised Jesus from the dead.
New International Version
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
This passage says that the Holy Ghost raised Jesus.
New International Version
The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life--only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father."
This passage says that Jesus raised himself.

if there is evidence that jesus invisibly chose specific men at headquarters in brooklyn new york in 1919 to be his faithful slave and that mandate and ability passed on to future directors...then the answer might just be a resounding maybe.. what is the evidence for this invisible appointment and what is the evidence that this is just watchtower mythology?.
i hope jws like scholar and fisherman will explain why the trust the gb.. i must be honest, i see no evidence at all to put trust in either the 1919 selection or the current men taking the lead in warwick.
.
To me it's a question of authority. Who has the authority to teach what the bible actually is?
Is it these men in Brooklyn? How or why? They didn't choose the books that the bible contains, did they?
Isn't it right to go to where the bible came from to get an accurate teaching?
The fact is that the bible is a catholic book. The books contained in the bible were voted on by way of a council of catholic bishops, Several councils in fact voted on which books should be included and which ones should be deleted.

i have heard it said [numerous times] that jws live their life according to the bible.. i have also heard [numerous times] that jws have restored the correct christian practice following the great apostasy [?which is a different topic].
my question is 'is there any proof anywhere in history where jewish or christian people lived their life according to the scriptures?".

So to answer one who agrees the subject title
Bluesbrother wrote
Uncountable numbers of people have endeavoured to live their lives according to Scriptures.
That may or may not be true. Can you site an example of any religious organization [prior to the WTS] promoting that practice? I have not found this teaching anywhere in history prior to the 19th century American bible boom. Please cite any examples that I may have missed.
I would cite the family of Jesus who made the sacrifices, observed the festivals etc of the Jewish scriptures. I can’t imagine Joseph being unscrupulous in his dealings with others . In the early Christian world a lot met their death in the arena rather than violate their beliefs
Living according to righteousness is NOT strictly living according to the scriptures.
The scriptures in Jesus's time [and today too] were read aloud in worship at the Synagogue through today in Church[s]. It was never a complete guide to faithful life. It included worship,a record of history of a race of people, a guide on cleansing and diet. Laws , etc
Today millions of Christian people believe they are living the right way , the trouble is the application of Bible principles. e.g. A JW would not vote or stand for office because he must be “ no part of the world “ . However , a Mormon may tell you that it is Christian duty to do so , for the good of the community.
History teached all the way back to the apostles that the right way to live as a Christian is to do ALL that Jesus instructed us to do. Jesus NEVER said look to the scriptures as a guide for living, he DID say to do all that he told us to.

TNK,
Jesus read the scriptures in the synagogue while teaching. OT was available and widely circulated during Jesus's life.
He read and told his 'congregation' that the scriptures he read one day referred to himself. His congregation wanted to kill him immediately after as I recall
