- If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire.
- “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
- In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.I guess the word “soul” isn’t there. You’re right VH, there’s no hell to worry about in the scriptures.seriously, though, the concept of hell is unpleasant to everyone, not just JW’s.

Why Do JW's Believe that Hell is Symbolic When the Disciples of the Apostles believed it Was Literal ?
by Sea Breeze inlooks like the early christians believed jesus when he warned about hell over 40 times.
why don't the jw's do the same?.
from “the epistle of barnabas” (70-130ad).

VH ,
the NT is filled w/ warnings about the unquenchable fire w/worms that don’t die. Everlasting fire. That must mean different things to you than it does to the rest of the world?

VH,
what makes you think that eternal hellfire must be present in the Old Testament? Is it somehow not valid because it’s in the New Testament and not in the Old Testament?

Ratt,
people who were taught the faith from the apostles and the hearers of apostles know what was honest and originally preached better than someone 1850 years later who was disturbed by hell, and chose to teach that it doesn’t exist despite explicit biblical evidence.
Thankfully the scholarly institutions of the world have tens of thousands of pages written from the apostles and the hearers of the apostles and the hearer’s of them.
God loves us and doesn’t want to punish us for our choices? Yet angels, who God also loves are condemned eternally to hell (as it was prepared for Satan and his fallen angels)
Why would an all loving God condemn his creation to hell?
because God, the good creator does not destroy his creation but lets us all live and die by our choices.
The dead are aware of nothing is 100% taken out of context. Reading the chapter and learning of the Hebrew writing technique of hyperbole will go along way in your understanding. Wishing you good luck in your honest studies

Stickers against Jehovahs witnesses
by Paul Bonanno inin malta in 1980s the catholic church issued a yellow sticker telling jehovahs witnesses not to knock on their door.
this was distributed with all the parishioners.. i would like to know if others countries had this in place before the 1980s especially maybe italy and ireland?.

I have heard that Malta is very very Catholic. Probably from the apostles visiting and I think John particular. Or perhaps they weren’t interested in the one way conversations as JW‘s come to the door, in their mind, as teachers of the Scriptures, as opposed to teachers of the WTS, which they are. No offense intended, just mho. That said, I don’t think I’m a fan of anti-JW stickers.

by Vanderhoven7 inaccording to watchtower, only anointed christians existed between the first and 20th centuries.
the great crowd of other sheep only began forming after the 20th century started.. how do they support this conclusion?

How do JWs know that less than 150,000 Christians existed before the 20th Century?
That answer’s easy. Jesus told them back in 1914 or 1919 or whatever date that he inspected all of the churches and found that the WTS were the only ones doing Gods work. Not only that, but being a JW means you’re not going to die. And for the cherry on top, you’ll be part of the largest publisher in the world….in the past anyway -

Early Christians were made up of Jews, who had their own variations in sects of paganism infused Judaism. And they added pagans. Everyone else that wasn’t a Jew, was a pagan, and you can’t help but to bring that influence in. Plato, Aristotle? Those guys Had some very rich writing and opinions. It would be a loss not to be familiar with their writings, wouldn’t it?
