by Yizuman inseems that the page view out number the posters who actually reply to the thread.. my guess is that there's alot of active jws who are still active within' the so called "truth" are visiting this forum and reading all the threads.
i don't blame them for not wanting to reply for fear of being found out.. how many of you were still active when you found a forum like this one and lurked around for a long time?
how many of you left the organization as a result of reading this forum or other forums like it?.

Eli and his sons were executed by God. If the Governing Body is executed by God, then maybe I'll consider coming back to the hall (just kidding)!
The JW logic is completely flawed. I know, because I used that stupid logic on many occasions. I heard myself sounding like an idiot, yet continued on. I've pointed out many travesties of justice committed by elders, and I get the standard response from my family, "There are imperfect men in the organization, but it is still the truth"
Jonadab, can you please explain to me how the majority of the whole can be corrupt, but the entire whole thought of as clean and pure? I believe that there is a such thing as true Christianity. It doesn't involve denomination or church membership. It involves being a follower of Christ.
I am happier NOW than I ever was as a JW. As a JW, Jehovah was a mean, judging God that didn't answer my prayers as a child or as an adult. As a Christian, Jehovah is my provider, my help, my righteousness.
My family wants to believe that I'm unhappy. My sister even goes as far as inventing things! I think most active JWs want to believe that X-JWs are unhappy and depressed. As a JW, I was suicidal and depressed.

The coming "disassociations"
by Elsewhere ini have seen several threads about how the elders are going to be going around asking people if they still consider themselves to be jehovah's witnesses.
this will undoubtedly result in multiple da announcements in the coming months.
i'm curious how the average jw will perceive this and respond to it.

I haven't been to any meetings in about five years. I have NEVER been contacted by any elders. Now, I'm sure they'll be contacting me in their new push, because my entire family are JWs. My grandmother, sister and aunt (all reg pioneers) will all be more than happy to give them my info (telephone #, address). I fully intend to avoid them at all costs. My husband was never a JW, so they will end up talking to him. If they happen to get me on the phone, I'll say 'Tiffany is not available, would you like to leave a message?' That's not a lie! I'm never available for them. I don't ever open my door without identifying who it is. If it looks like elders, I ain't answering the door. In my angrier days, I've told off several publishers who had the audacity to ring my bell. But I never give them my maiden name, and I've moved out of the territory.
Actually, I think I'll tell them that my husband does not allow me to talk to men, and that I have to obey my head. I'll tell them that whatever questions they have for me, they can pose them to my hubby. My husband is a Christian Minister who is very well versed in the tricks of JWs (thanks to me.) Two elders actually tried to study with him. I would listen from upstairs and crack up as their logic was blasted.
Maybe my name has already been announced. I doubt it though, because when I run into JWs, they still speak. My sister is actually the only one who chooses to shun me (until she needs to borrow money).

Any Brooklyn Bethelites from '93 - '98?
by back2dafront ini guess i should introduce myself for i am a new poster-boy :-) my name is jason howard and i currently reside in santa cruz, california.
i spent the first 24 years of my life as a jw, starting in danbury, ct, then to fayetteville & charlotte, nc, and finally brooklyn, bethel, where finally all of my negative inner thoughts and feelings were confirmed.
(from the ages of 14-24 i always felt something just didn't add up with the organization, but i could never quite put a finger on it) i spent my career at bethel in the brooklyn warehouse/purchasing departments and worked with some really great individuals.

Anybody know these guys?
Andrew (Chip) Davis, Stephen Baker, Jonathan Baker, Brian Sizemore. I know for a fact that Brian is out of the org, and Chip left Bethel to get married. I believe that the Baker boys have made a career out of Bethel life. Stephen and I were very good friends...I'd love to lay some real 'truth' on him. My congregation was known for producing Bethelites.

I see that some people on this message board are incapable of holding a discussion without hurling insults or namecalling. Furthermore, what purpose is served from trying to point out flaws in the bible? Are you trying to convince yourself that your unbelief is justified? Christians are going to dismiss every claim of atheists and atheists are going to dismiss every claim of Christians. What is even the point?

Thank you for explaining your view of 'rabid'. I wonder if the original poster is even an ex-jw. I know that if I was trying to get a JW or X-JW to covert to Christianity, the Deity of Christ would be the last topic I would discuss. The problem with most Christians is that they are offended by Athiests. I am not offended by someone exercising their own choices. As a Christian, I feel compelled to share the gospel of Christ, but there is a huge difference between share and 'ram down someone's throat'
