LOL at Layla....My delicious pioneer crush went away to Bethel too. He actually just got downsized. But it was so funny how my mom was pleased about my sudden "zeal"! She let me go out in service from sun up (street witnessing) to sun down (evening service). It was just one long flirt fest :)

by new light incould anything have been more embarrassing?
you could be at the door of the least popular munger in school, but overwhelmed with envy because, hey, at least he was doing something normal.
in 8th grade, at the peak of childhood self-consciousness, i knocked on the door of a super popular, rich, "in" kid from my class and he answered the door.

An old friend of mine just got "downsized" by Bethel. He went there when he was 20 years old and is now 34. He's gone home to live with his family and is working a low paying job. Honestly, I hurt for him. I remember when we were in High School how smart this guy was! He could've been a CEO of someone's company or even an entrepreneur. It's not too late for him to go back to school, but dang, those student loans are gonna be a mutha! Maybe Bethel should provide scholarships for the guys they put out to pasture....

This post is so funny to me!!! Actually though, I didn't really have a huge problem with seeing my classmates out in service. There was a pretty sizable group of JWs at my High school and we had our own clique. Plus, the only reason I was out in service was because of the delicious regular pioneer that I was in love with!!! LOL. I did however used to pretend to ring the bells on general principle because I just didn't want to have to do my presentation.

They are black brothers with the initials JB (he's around 36) and SB (he's 34, I think). One served at Paterson (he's married now) the other is still at Watchtower Farms. I'd love to share stories about these guys. I tried to PM you all, but only the one to Black Man actually sent. Holla!

I like his reference to The Village. EXTREMELY fitting!!! I hated that movie too. He must have a lot of pain. What if his mother doesn't talk to him or his brother or sister. It could be heartbreaking. The article was posted on EURWEB.com and people were making comments about how JWs are good people and know their bible....blech! They know their bible , but the bible that everyone else reads is a mystery! I never knew how many hip hop folk had JW ties, Notorious B.I.G., Ja-Rule, Jay-Z all come from Jehovah's Witness homes. Maybe that's why they're so angry all the time.

*Troubles continue to mount for staff at The Source. The rap magazine’s editor-in-chief Dasun Allah recently turned himself in to police after he was charged with desecrating a Jehovah's Witness assembly hall in New York.
"They [Jehovah’s Witnesses] known why I did it," Allah said outside the 32nd Precinct station house in Harlem. "They mentally molested me. They broke up my family."
Allah was reportedly pushed out of the Jehovah's Witnesses over 13 years ago.
"They said I didn't fit the criteria, because, to put it lightly, I wasn't a choirboy," Allah told The New York Post.
Allah is now a part of the Islam-based Nation of Gods and Earths and has compared the Jehovah's Witnesses to the creepy residents depicted in the film, “The Village.” He added that the graffiti he sprayed on the building was to underscore the religion's "hypocrisy."
The 32-year-old, whose real name is David Allen Blanks, will face charges of criminal mischief and spreading graffiti. His lawyer Mel Sachs stated he's "confident that this case will be resolved successfully."

Were the "Pioneers" in your hall treated with favoritism by the Elders?
by booker-t init seems that all of the parts on the theocratic ministry school were given by the pioneers in my old hall.
also the elders were always complemented on how "sister pioneer" is so zealous and loves jehovah.
as if sister not pioneering hated jehovah.

Yes! YES!! YES!!! My congregation had a clique of pioneers. There were seven in one family (The children and wives of two brothers). They pretty much ran stuff. One of the boys was the 'youngest pioneer in the circuit' (it was his title for a few years). I remember turning in an application to pioneer and I was told by the elders that they didn't think I could make the hours. They just didn't want a poor girl from a single parent family to get into their secret clique.
