"Feeling sorry for yourself" about being hit by your husband is not Christian 2/15/12 WT Page 25 P 12
by yourmomma inhave anyone of you read, the absolutly jaw dropping paragraph in this article about a women who was hit by her husband?
its in page 25 of the 2/15/12 wt study edition (i read the dumbed down version).. .
if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?

The penny has just dropped sorry for being dense. Thank you sabastious for your honest apraisal or [insult] i have broad shoulders, i have been call many things but never pious, i like a man who speaks his mind .Yes i am a man who is driven by my love of the creator and his will not mine but i also enjoy Christian freedom i never had as a witness. sorry you have lost hope and faith in scripture what drove it out of you? If you are a victim of the watchtower cult that explains a lot and you have my emphathy. Paul is an easy target for many believers and non believers as he was in the first century. As Rosepetals husband i do not post often, now you know why.

A male dominated society did exist in Bible times, and haven't we seen an abuse of a God honouring headship arrangement. Pauls letters and his dicussion of various subjects are often hard to understand even the apostle Peter admitted that, Paul had a lawyers mind. Bible scholars are uncertain as the whether Paul was married or not, but being a pharisee the chances were high that he was or had been. Ephesians makes it clear that a wife's role is to be submissive to her husband but the husband is to love his wife as his own body.
However, is Ephesians 5 v 26 saying that a wife is only holy if her husband loves her? Certainly any married or single Christian woman would disagree with that. I can't help feeling that Paul was using the relationship between Christ and the church to highlight the precious relationship between himself and the church being the saviour of that body. However was paul indicating that the husbands headship saves his wife? This would contradict other scriptures. a woman is honoured made or presented holy by her husbands proper treatment of her, but if the Holy Spirit is indwelling within her already i.e. called to faith, she is already holy, this again would contradict scripture if it were not so. 2cor 11v2 paul says how he would like to present the congregation there, a chaste or pure virgin to Christ, did that mean it was paul making them pure or just hoping to present them as pure? In eph 5v30. just after paul refers that husband and wife are are members of Christs body.
In Ephesians 5 v 31 Paul then speaks about the husband and wife arrangement before the fall. But is was not the husband and wife arrangement paul thought was a mystery, but it was the revealing of the church, that was the mystery that blew pauls mind that was only alluded to in the hebrew scriptures but now was made manifest by the Holy spirit and in the new testament to come. However the main thread of this topic was should a christian wife submit to continued abuse by her believing or unbelieving husband? Was paul really saying yes she should? or is that the interpretation of only an cultist mind or of a chauvinist society? Womens roles in society today is undergoing many changes, many of these changes are for the good, even in the church women who are part of the congregation are rightfully enjoying more respect and their activity is honouring God.

These are the very Scriptures they miss apply, Christ was never a woman beater, there is nothing fair about the watchtower society miss applying those Scriptures. The true Church does not beat up wives or women and neither does Christ, as usual cultish religions miss apply these Scriptures to control, and particularly women as they are more vulnerable. Husbands are supposed to love their wives and die for them as Christ did for the Church.
Headship arrangement is one thing, dominating your wife to her injury is satanic. Women have an equal inheritance with the Lord and anyone hitting his wife is hitting a member of the body of Christ, there is nothing in those Scriptures that are quoted suggest beating the living daylights out of your wife and that she has to accept it, everything means according to love not domination. Any other reasoning on this matter is purely satanic.
Anyone that can glean any suggestion that a woman has to put up with any violence in a Godly marriage arrangement is not fit to be married. As a former Jehovah's witness for twenty five years and now a Christian, I have never raised my hand to my wife under any circumstances, and I take issue with anyone who does.
As far as being 'won over without a word' when married to an unbeliever, the advice is to stay with your husband if he is not objectionable, and he if is aggreable, [NOT] if he is beating her. However if you look at the many accounts on this forum of those who have left the organisation and ' so called 'apostates' the organisation will try to seperate them not only from your wife or husband, but from your Children, even if there has been no violence 'THE HIPOCTRITES'
As far as showing Christian qualities to your husband [or wife] who is an unbeliever which is a good thing, it is the Lord who calls one to repentance and faith, not any man.

I recently met a couple of ex JW'S who told me that the reason they were disfellowshipped was because a sister in their congregation, married to an elder, had commited adultary, her husband [the elder] found out and beat her up, she ended up in hospital with broken ribs etc. The elders disfellowshipped her and this couple took her in and helped her.
The elders informed them that they must stop helping her and ask her to leave, they refused to to this, so they were asked to meet with them, they stood by their decision so they were both disfellowshipped, they felt it was the Christian thing to do no matter what she had done, the sister they were helping was also disfellowshipped, her husband [the elder] stayed an elder. welcome DTW. We all would like to make a difference and work to improve things that trouble our conscience, be it doctrinal matters, injustice, corruption, abuse, or general unfairness. It does not necessarily make our point of view right all the time, but having the freedom to have a positive imput among fellow believers without being labelled diversive and disloyal is what many have found that still have a personal faith in God on this and many other boards and are no longer serving men. I made the mistake for over thirty years and convinced myself it was love and loyallty to God and his word first and looking to his spirit, love for my brothers and working in association with the watchtower society through the congregation and their doctrinal developments and having the freedom to allow my conscience and long personal experience to decide if i could always without fear of debate and sincere discussion except the ever changing doctrines because of their having to reinvent themselves every half a decade, after all they claim they are not inspired, {and we no that that's just double talk}
The leadership will always exist while it's followers are happy to worship by numbers needing policies and procedures to tell them how to behave. This is not meant to be unkind but i still have family members who think i am mentally deceased because i dare to believe and put faith in God without watchtower governing body direction, they did not learn this from Christ. As you are fully aware what jeremiah 31:33-34 says that no man made policies and procedures that determine how faithful you are, because The Lord writes his law of love on our hearts. The point i am trying to make is the leadership feeds on our fear and in turn it's followers become legalistic and judgemental of others and become victims of their own uncertainties of their salvation, {you are only as good as you last report} you cannot change over one hundred and thirty years of a self greasing axel, you need to allow the Holy Spirit to guide you out of the manmade watchtower and follow Christ as your leader.

I'm new here..... Studying with the Witnesses
by PenelopePaige inhi- i just wanted to say that i have been checking the website out for a few weeks and have read some horror stories and some sad ones.
but i have been studying with witnessess for about six months and can't help but feel that they're completely sincere and maybe even, the true religion.
i love the watchtower and awake and to me, none of that seems crazy.

If we are looking for perfection with any religious group we will always come to disappointment. But no matter how mainstream churches may disappoint us they cannot take our integrity, our faith and relationship with our creator, they cannot seperate us from Gods love we can only do that ourselves. However, in my experience of being a 'JW' for thirty years, the mindset that you develop and which they encourage, if you default on the organisation, they feel that they have the authority to strip you of your dignity, selfrespect, they will strip you bare and even take Gods love away from you.
And the irony of it is, you will actually come away believing that they can. These are classic symptoms of a cult so don't be fooled into thinking it is not.

Hi WW welcome to the board, I am so sorry that you are in such pain, it made me cry to know what you are going through, you are in good company here, so many of us are feeling your pain and experiencing the abandonment you are. The organisation has stolen your family from you. You need support and understanding which is what these forums are for, to help us see that we are not alone and that thousands are suffering in the same way, when I first read all the stories of peoples experiences on the different forums, I was shocked and grieved especially the sexual abuse, I cried and was upset for weeks, I had no idea that so many were suffering and what was going on behind closed doors in the organisations so called Kangaroo courts.
Although it did not take away from what I had experienced in the organisation over the years, it did help put everything into perspective.
WW I have sent you a private message click on the little blue envelope at the top of the page, you may have to do this twice to recieve the message.
