  We were treated like that when we were still in. My hubby and I were going through some horrible times with illness and problems. They were hard as nails. All they were interested in was where's your report, not at meetings enough, even though we explained our situation just told, '' you don't have enough faith''. When we did get to a meeting the elders and their wives would ignore us.

  I remember walking to shops and elders and wives would literaly cross the road to avoid us. They obviously marked us. They did this to others in the congo. I am not surprised at the response. If they can do it to their brothers who are still believe in the borg. but going through problems and feel justified to be harsh and unloving your situation..........well words fail me....... they think that is going to bring you back. All I can say is that is not ''LOVE'' yet they will think they have done a loving thing it boggles the mind.

  I used to think to myself Jesus would not treat us like this if he was here as a man, he had compassion, the org. is hard as nails and don't really care, but we used to keep going. There was a point were I was so poorly and hubby had to look after me we stopped going for a year. But we didn't even get a letter, just forgotten about.

  although i was born into this religion/cult in 1963 and didn't leave until a few years ago, i just now ordered crisis of conscience and in search of christian freedom from commentary press.

  i'm very much looking forward to reading these.. even though ray franz is gone, his important work continues.

  i hope many more people can find out the truthtm about the wts..

  Hubby and I haven't read 'Crisis of Conscience' yet. We will be ordering it soon, can't wait to read it. We have picked up a lot of info. from the book from all of you on here. Without even reading the book we can see it is like going behind the curtain in the wizard of Oz.

  When it all first happened and Ray was disf. we tried to find out exactly what went on but it was all very vague. When he wrote his book we would not have dared read it even if we were curious because of fear. I am sure there are many who would like to read it. Lets hope some can overcome the fear.

  Hi Bee would you believe this as I was reading your post a spindly spider with long legs 'UGH' came down right in front of my eyes gave me the shock of my life. look of shock . Anyhoo getting back to thread that is so true it was like being on big brother 24/7 wasn't it. So I think we have all had enough of that thank you very much.

  Yes I agree it's been overdone. It's getting tired and predictable i used to enjoy it I was fascinated that people could go in and be watched 24/7. There is no way I would go in there.

  Are You Eccentric?

  one of the words of today was concentric - sharing a common center.. which set me to thinking about eccentric - out of center.. i've been told that i'm eccentric.. have you ever been told that?.

  Does anyone remebr the "Rooming Work"

  when a convention was to be held in your city and it was believed there weren't enough hotel rooms available or at least affordable ones, the witnesses living in that city were asked to go out into the territory and ask people if they had a room or rooms someone attending the convention could use.

  you could report your time doing this as part of your ministry.

  i could never bring myself (14 or 15) to do this....it just seemed too weird for a kid to go to a house and ask the householder for a room but many kids in the hall did this.

  Hi exwhyzee I remember doing the rooming work. I remember going with my mum and others in a group for a whole day and taking a pack up and hot flasks of coffee and tea. I of course saw this as an adventure as we had to go further than usual and travelled by car.

  One year I was about nine my mum brother and sister and I went with another family from London to Scotland to an assembly. They hired a minibus between them. I remember that when we got there we had to stay in this huge tent there were rows and rows of camp beds. We had to stay the night with all these other JW familys in this huge tent. We kids thought it was great. But I remember my mum was not happy because this was just for the night. We had to wait in a queue to find out where they would place us as we all had to stay together.

  Remember in those days assembly's lasted longer. They eventually sorted us out and well I just could not believe our luck we were sent to these chalet's by the sea it was great . My brother and I saved up our pocket money for six months so we had our spending money. We went to Fife and bought some toys to play on the beach. I can't remember how long it took from there to the assembly.
