  it's true because it happened to me last night.

  i knew it was trouble when she started looking at my kindle.

  once she got to the short stories i wrote 3 years ago, autobiographical, some of it involving her, i knew i wouldn't be going to bed before 1:00 (it was 11:40 p.m. by then).

  let's start this over...in the right direction.. thanks to simon for providing this forum where we can discuss our experiences and issues with the wt society and the jw religion.

  anyone that knows anything about me at all knows that i'm not an ass kisser, but i think we forget what a pain in the ass it must be to keep a forum like this going.

  sure, most forums have flame wars and personality conflicts from time to time, but a forum about sports cars, motorcyles, basketweaving, and needlepoint don't have the same emotions and pain expressed in their subjects as this forum...as any ex-jw forum, as any ex-cult forum... does.. we're mostly a group of people who have been ostracized by family and so-called life long friends.

  When I was about 12 I was on my way to school and an old lady was standing at her gate. She stopped me and asked if I could get her some shopping, she looked very frail and I couldn't say no so i did which made me about half our late for school. The teacher asked me why I was late so I told her about the old lady and I just couldn't say no, of course the teacher didn't believe me she said I've heard that one before.

  I was put on detention and had to stay half our after school and was assigned some boring work.

  Stopped smoking

  ...again this time i am going to stick with it.

  last smoke was 24 hours ago and i instantly started coming down with cold sympthoms.

  i figure i'll save 200-300 a month..

  i just submitted my manuscript for armageddons disciple to comfort publishing.

  apparently, it will take them two-three months to get back to me.

  if any of you want to offer up thoughts/prayers/incense/candles/sacrificial chickens/bribes/sexual favors whatever on my behalf id appreciate it.

  I started taking control of my life

  5 years ago when i attended my last meeting.

  ever since i started making decisions, instead of waiting on jehovah, things have been happening faster for me, its weird.. all my life i was told just wait on jehovah, wait on him for a husband, wait on him for children, wait on him for a happy life.. well you know what i stopped waiting and i am happy!!!!.

  yes i did get a wonderful husband (who adores my every move) while in the org.

  loosie that's great thumbs up from me too. While I was still in and in my late thirties I thought to myself I have no education [ I was doing a cleaning job at the time to help make ends meet, it was getting me down as I had health problems over the years] I've had enough of this I'm going back to college, it didn't interfere with meeting attendance so no one said anything. I am so glad I did as I now have business from home.

  I really recommend going back to college at any age, I am really happy for you life is just beginning.

  i have just seen the hottest girl ever on facebook and turns out she's a jw.

  i swear i'm so close to make a temporary return just to have a chance with this girl.

  i used to wake up early (sometimes really early if i still had to study my wt) and got right off to the kh.

  then it was afternoon service well into the evening, which left me just enough time to read a few articles from the new magazines or a few chapters from the bible before i was off to bed.

  sunday for me really is sort of a day of rest, and not in some sabbatical sense of the word either.

  Hubby and I go to the local baptist church at eleven oc. so we still get a lie in. We have a lovely time there and have made loads of friends. We don't have to study up it like we did when JWs. Then we go to our local country pub for a sunday roast. Sometimes friends come with us, then as it is summer we go to for a walk in the park and chill out. Today as it is my birthday I am staying in and having nice time with family I am waiting for my birthday cake.

  Unlike when we were JWs if we don't go to church one week nobody chases you up in a judgmental way. People are genuinly concerned for us. It is so refreshing. Well that's our experience anyway. And since attending church we are accomplishing more productive work for the Lord than we ever did as JWs with all there studying and there obsessive meeting attendance, and we still get plenty of time to enjoy reading and studying the Bible without being dictated to what we have to study.
