I finally had witnesses knock on my door!!!!!
by myownlife ini keep missing them i guess.....but had a father/daughter tag team come to my door an hour ago.
i loved it when i asked them about the 'new light' and why that keeps happening when the bible has stayed the same...you could hear crickets....i also asked about the disfellowshipping/shunning thing and they said something about discipline...whatever!
it's incredible that i was once one of them and was so enthusiastic about the borg!

Ray Franz has had a stroke

there is another thread that notes a claim on wiki that said that ray has died.. he had a stroke yesterday, and is in the hospital.
he is still alive.

by snowbird inhas been bugging me since i read it.. she mentioned how a classmate took special delight in tormenting her due to mary's being a jw.. mary mentioned that this girl pointed to and mocked her when she couldn't share in a birthday?
celebration.. are some kids really that cruel?

I think I would've enjoyed school if I wasn't a JW.....
I am a born/bred southerner and was treated horribly by the music teacher in elementary school...she tried her best to get me to sing holiday songs. And my mother was so gungho that I had to sit in the library during ANY kind of celebrations or she would pick me up before it occurred if it didn't interrupt her 'service day'
The kids were pretty bad too...some did feel sorry for me....
I too have children now and am so damn glad that they are not having to go thru what I experienced! I make sure they celebrate everything to the fullest and I am living vicariously thru them! LOL!

Theocratic Ministry School Assignments
by XPeterX inthe elders would give me the assignment about a month before my speech.man i used to wake up at nights thinking about it,being so anxious,so depressed...i also used to read explosively fast in order to get back to my seat as soon as possible and leave during the second song.
"it's a good think to be anxious about your assignment" they said.no motherockers it ain't good,it ain't no f()&uinng good it's like smashing one's balls with a sledgehammer.anyone had the same feelings?.

I hated giving talks...my talk partner would always be unavailable to 'practice' or would just be a pain in the #($*%...and I would always be counseled by this elder who couldn't stand me...nit picky a hole.
My mother has a lifetime supply of those 3x5 cards!

The "move away" Fade

I moved for a job about 40 miles away which helped keep my family out of my business. But don't you know, my mother contacted the local congregation and gave them my general location....she sicked them on me by proxy!!!! I wouldn't speak to them..always busy and made sure I over decorated for every holiday LOL!
Then, she signed me up for a subscription to the mags....made great fire starters. I think she finally gave up when I told the last dubs who knocked on my door that I was not interested, never will be and to tell my mother to mind her own damm business!

Does the GB get a salary?
