One thing many people don't realize is that Judges can't "renege" on a plea deal. They are set up between the defense and the DA, not the judge. Most of the time, the judge accepts them, but he is not legally bound. He can reject the deal and give the max if he wants, and it happens often, and in this case, the defendant then has the option of withdrawing his plea and going to trial or facing the music. It happens every day.

The man drugged, raped and sodomized a child. And was convicted. No wiggle room.

So, people want to give him sympathy because he was a holocaust surviovor? IMO this pisses on their memories. By the same token, they should have pardoned Eichmann, Mengele, etc. It's this same kind of moral equivocation that allows the JW's to continually cover up molestation.

our friend who was one of the annointed has died, i cried so much but then i was excited knowing shes in heaven meeting apostle paul, peter and brother knorr etc....wow how great is that :).

unsure how many are left though :((.

If this kind of thing is continued, we would'nt be able to tell JW's what we think @ the door, now would we? Freedom of speech is imperative, even for idiots.

personally, i would have no problem with this law.

if they want to 'rejoin' society, this should be a condition of their release.

i do not understand why human rights groups would be more concerned about these dangerous criminals...more...than children.. what do you think?.

It only lowers re-offense to a degree. Rape is about power and control far more than "libido". So permanent incarceration is the only way to keep people safe.

when i was a jehovah's witness i remember these debates being mentioned about the raps of innocent children that elders commented, the blacks and whites segregation, the crosses and christmas tree in the bethal, etc.

jehovah's witnesses have always been harassed for these things.

with the changing world and knowledge of the scriptures they work hard to try to work towards accurateness.

They don't HAVE to suffer. If I get you right, THEY are the ones shunning their daughter, i.e inflicting suffering. They may be deluded, but after awhile the "just following orders" bit just doesn't fly. Also, the blood doctrine kills more than jonestown every YEAR! I understand what you are saying, the rank and file are good people, but here is a quote from the film Boondock Saints that explains how i feel on that..
