Farkel, read some of the stuff by meteorologist Anthony Watts. He has some great stuff on calibration of weather stations etc. Villabolo, you can read too if you want. But i suppose you know more than a meteorologist.

the world is not going to run short of energy as soon as feared.
tony hayward, bp's chief executive, said proven natural gas reserves around the world have risen to 1.2 trillion barrels of oil equivalent, enough for 60 years' supply and rising fast.. "there has been a revolution in the gas fields of north america.

Pagans and heathens
by Doug Mason ini am interested in the pejorative sense that the terms pagan and heathen are bandied about as if they must only be understood to always mean a person having a non-christian or non-jewish religion.
i suggest a reading of sources such as wikipedia would prove enlightening.. the term pagan is from the latin paganus, an adjective originally meaning "rural", "rustic" or "of the country.
" as a noun, paganus was used to mean "country dweller, villager.

The JW's are not trained in "Unconditional love". It's conditional, they think that shunning is "loving" as it is supposed to bring people back to the fold. A religion that is restrictive, discourages "independent thinking" etc. That's why they are often referred to as the "borg" around here.

The JW's are a cult who practice shunning. Stay here awhile, it'll help, most people I've dated look @ me like I have 3 heads when I try and explain the JW's to them. I wish some of my exes would have come on here.

Folks, they've had LPG/propane vehicles for decades. It's nothing new, I almost bought a 1970's muscle car that had been converted a loooong time ago a year or so back, can't remember the model.

"Stone the infidels", erm ... I mean apologists (IMPORTANT)
by Simon ini've noticed a trend lately which is becoming annoying and is definitely something we want to address and put a stop to.. we'll see topics or get pms about some 'evil poster' that is making abusive posts or harrassing someone, driving people from the forum, yada yada and so we look ... and find nothing.
we ask for examples of their behavior where they have harrassed people and it goes rather quiet.
in fact, we find just the opposite - people being respectful and in return getting abusive posts directed towards them.. and why the hostility?.

I think Simon was talking more about running to the mods and/or accusing the apologists of stuff that's just not happening. Tongue lashings, when warranted I believe are still

I agree. While the apologists are often annoying, one thing that I find carries over from the JW's is the whole persecution complex. It's drives me nuts when some of the recent apologists claim persecution and verbal abuse when there is none, it's even worse when claimed by us exjw's. Do the apologists almost always stick there heads in the sand when given valid evidence contrary to their beliefs? Yep. So did we once, that's what makes it a cult and a problem. The inability to reason correctly. Cognitive dissonance. Avoiding "independent thinking". They are GOING TO DO THIS. Some learn ,some don't, but that's the nature of the beast. And expecting them to change to fit what we want is pretty much the flip side of the same coin.
