Salvation is God's work, and if you've read my other posts, then you've read the Gospel.
That's a mighty bold statement, there, chef! From what I've seen of your posts, it's just various bible verses & then writings on them by moden men. Sounds awful familar to me, like a certain org. that tells you the only way to know God is through their publications written by modern men to back up the bible.
life is tough regardless of whether we were ever jws.
my own life has taken some twists and turns i did not expect or like ... and i have to focus all my attention now on getting my badly needed open-heart surgery or face death in about six months ... so in the next couple of days, i am making the last of three posts for a while ... then all my efforts will be aimed at getting better, and facing some issues in my life and making the best decisions possible for me and my family.
i decided to limit many activities because i tend to do too much and neglect some things that i should not ... this is not a good-bye post, but more of a long vacation post.
Looking forward to your posts as I have enjoyed them in my short time on thei forum. A little late thanksgiving thought, I am so happy that you are going through this as an x-jw, all the bs I've seen very sick people go through as jws is very hard, & 1 less stress you will have to endure. O.k, when I said, "God, how irretrievably stupid can people be?" I was asking "God" a hypothetical question. Not taking his "name in vain" Also, God is a title, not a name. Where's the bad language in that post? Hell? Sorry. Also, did I call you specifically a name? If the shoe fits....

i joined this site last week hoping to meet people that would steer me back to the organization.
instead the people i have talked to her are all trying to tell me too see the light and get out of the organization.
in my opinion, not that it matters, i really think that if a person had the truth deeply ingrained in them, they would never leave the truth.
You say there is a lot of hate in our replies, zol, & that we think we are better than the Jws. I would suggest you go to http://www.silentlambs .org & read the guestbook starting around april or may of this year & tell me who sounds more hurt & who sounds more hateful. I know I was shocked & surprised @ some of the statements coming from so called JW's, having been raised as one, & having problems w/ their doctrine, but I never remember such hateful language. Also, so as not to sound like a total hypocrite, yes you will come across some fairly angry rants written by me, but I am an outspoken guy when it comes to abuse of any kind.
in a thread about the new wt video on kora, two posters mentioned that the wts sends out bills/statements to the congregations that don't send enough money for the literature/study materials/videos, etc.
two different posters mentioned in the thread "letter read out to congregations" (page one) one bill was for 2k and the other one for $1,400.

Well, that's fantastic! It shows another link between this "publishin company" & so-called "independent kingdom halls" the obvious dodge they are trying to use to avoid lawsuits at the top
if i seem out of it, for the next few days, it's because i fell down a flight of stairs, slipped on the carpeted stairs in my bare feet, and broke my tail bone, and split a toe open, and had to have stitches.
so i'm on heavey narcotics, and if you need to get ahold of me in any amount of time, then a phone call is the best bet.

my dad passed away at the hospital today after a lengthy illness.
he was 84 years old.
some of the folks here have known for awhile that he had been ill, and they have been very supportive.

Who are you to say that I have'nt? Are you saying you know my spritual beliefs? Are you saying I need to join a church based on your interpretaion of the bible? See? I appreciate your caring enough to "scare me into belief" what w/ hell, eternal damnation etc.. But your arrogance in telling me what I do & don't believe really scares me more than the whole hell thing. And is'nt pride a sin?
