  The police are good at putting criminals in jail, that is what they do. Polanski paid a settlement to the girl he injured. In many countries it is called a payment for loss of honor. Not much can be gained now after 30 years. Let him appolgize, maybe spend a month in jail and lets be finished with it.

  I don't give a shit about "other countries" and how they buy off the victims. He ass-raped a little girl. There was no "loss of honor" to her, she didn't do a fucking thing wrong. A month, my ass, he should be shot.

  Umm, maybe because Polanski lied to her, and she was under the impression that her daughters friend was going with, and Roman manipulated that situation? Maybe because her mom brought charges against him?

  happified is a real watchtower word(tm), by the way!.

  if you want to give the wts credit for anything, then at least give them credit for their remarkably simple solution to every ill suffered by mankind.. it is a "one size fits all" solution and might be part of the appeal the wts has attracting people who have a hard time with reason and common sense.. they won't specifically tell you what that solution is, though.

  if they did, they would even get less converts than they get now, and currently they ain't gettin' many.

  Sammie, to answer your questions and assertions. #1 There have been at least 8 times on record that the US has tried to capture him in other countries.

  #2, He's already been convicted, it's not up to the victim. If that was the way our Justice system worked, hardly anyone would stay arrested for domestic violence. And #3, he may not have any more convictions, but it's on record that a year or so later he was Having sex with 15 year old Nastassia Kinski. So we know that that was his preference.

  Geez, Hamilcar and Satanus, anti-semitic much? I mentioned Eichmann et. al, because many said that people like Wiesenthal should stop following them, as if there were some sort of statute, c'mon, they were old, lived in Argentina as businessmen, can't we just let bygones be bygones?

  I'll use a different example. Say, in 20 years we finally catch Bin Laden. And people say"He's had a hard life, has to be on dialysis, live in a cave, had his assets frozen, just let it go..."

  One thing many people don't realize is that Judges can't "renege" on a plea deal. They are set up between the defense and the DA, not the judge. Most of the time, the judge accepts them, but he is not legally bound. He can reject the deal and give the max if he wants, and it happens often, and in this case, the defendant then has the option of withdrawing his plea and going to trial or facing the music. It happens every day.

  The man drugged, raped and sodomized a child. And was convicted. No wiggle room.

  So, people want to give him sympathy because he was a holocaust surviovor? IMO this pisses on their memories. By the same token, they should have pardoned Eichmann, Mengele, etc. It's this same kind of moral equivocation that allows the JW's to continually cover up molestation.
