Bands that carry on with new soundalike lead singers
by JimmyPage ini was checking out alice in chains' new album "black gives way to blue" and how they've replaced deceased frontman layne staley with william duvall.
it got me thinking of other bands that have done this, like journey replacing steve perry with steve augeri and arnel pineda, and inxs replacing michael hutchence with j.d.
fortune.

Avishai, there was a show about "Burning Man" on the "Current" channel so I dvr'd it. I haven't watched it yet. You wouldn't happen to be appearing in it, would you?
Maybe. You can see me in this vid, kinda, I'm on the front right side of the beast wearing a cowboy hat and tails.

And then there's Boston who replaced Brad Delp w/ Michael Sweet from Striper and this guy from home depot.

Actually, Dinah, it kinda does. Ian Astbury from the Cult was the singer in a "Doors" ressurection.

That being said, bands who hire a sound-alike for the sake of one drive me nuts, I like it when a singer brings another dimension, like w/ AC/DC. I prefer Bon Scott, but Johnson definitely brings his own thing. I liked Tim "Ripper" Owens in Judas Priest

And sometimes when they bring in someone who sounds totally different, it's an epic fail, i.e Blaze Bailey w/ Iron Maiden, or John Corabi w/ Motley Crue.

In the case of JD, he can sound like Hutchence, but he also has his "own" voice. I can dig it. Van Halen w/ Sammy Hagar was great as it's own animal, but when he tried singing DLR songs, it was plain awful.

The police are good at putting criminals in jail, that is what they do. Polanski paid a settlement to the girl he injured. In many countries it is called a payment for loss of honor. Not much can be gained now after 30 years. Let him appolgize, maybe spend a month in jail and lets be finished with it.
I don't give a shit about "other countries" and how they buy off the victims. He ass-raped a little girl. There was no "loss of honor" to her, she didn't do a fucking thing wrong. A month, my ass, he should be shot.
