Trinitarians! Who is Jesus Christ's father the Holy Spirit or the Father?

this is one question that trinitarians try to avoid because they have created a very embarrassing problem.

the bible is very clear when the angel tells mary that holy spirit will overshadow her and she will become pregnant.

the angel does not say the father will overshadow her but the holy spirit will and if the holy spirit is a person that would make him the father of jesus.

Enough said indeed: The Bible shows a simple relationship between Father and Son, that continues, even after his Resurrection... he remains The Great High Priest with his Father's Name inscribed on his Forehead.

The Trinitarians are unsure themselves of their own definition... with many interpretations of the Athenasian Creed.

Jesus remains subject to the Father... and the Holy Spirit flowed across the Waters during the Creation.

Simple, cleare and concise... no confusion, other than the tamperings of errant Priests, particularly in the Court of King James.

seriously did not even think that jw was that much different...but now i know better and it has my mind spinning.

i have stopped answering questions, say my own prayers to god at the meetings, and plastr on a fake smile.

Maybe those of us that have been Out of the WT a little longer can see a huge "turn around" in Major doctrine over the past 30 years.

Has your partner ever considered, that much of the Doctrine of Today, was the "Apostasy" of 30+ years ago? So, who are the Apostates? Those that stand up for what they believe what is right and true, according to the Scriptures... or those that blindly follow the "Teachings of Men", and fall into the "Pit" with them?

For me, I simply found myself spending over 100 hours a month... insisting this was the "Truth" only to find the rug pulled under me, as "New Light" altered well established Doctrine.

We have here a Religion, that encourages folk to "Read the Bible Daily"... then, chokes them out when they start to reason for themselves and form a relationship of their own with God.

The issue that started the Ball rolling for me, was an article on Cannibalism, shortly after an airplance crashed in the Andes in Peru. At first, I thought..."wow" what sound reasoning.... No Biblical edict to sanction a person if they chose to Eat The Flesh of those that were Dead.... then I thought, well if they can reason that way over such gut wrenching choice... what about the difference, eating blood for food... against the use of blood in Medicine, for the Saving of Life? Shortly after that article, I found myself in field service, consoling a Surgeon from Nicaragua, in tears because he let a 16 year old... a few days beyond the age of Majority... die, when he felt he could have saved her. Though, I shook his hand and attempted to console him... I walked away with my head and guts in turmoil... thinking, there is something really not right here...

You, are responsible before God, for your own Conscience ... go with it... and be at Peace.

Do You experience unexplained headaches and anxiety? What about irregular menstrual cycles? Does your face flush when you drink red wine? Do you get an itchy tongue, or runny nose.... when you eat BANANAS!?

Somewhere I read, that there is enough Histamine in one Banana to equal a thousand bee stings! (Stands to be confirmed)

So if you have a Histamine allergy... Stay away from meetings at the local Kingdom Hall!.. where they promote Bananas as good for you!

Two wrongs don't make a right... throw a bucket of love over the situation.

Your Mum deserves the respect of a Mum, no matter what is thrown at you. Insist that you "chaperone"... be present at each visit... and when it is clear to YOU, as a loving parent that the purpose of the visits is familial alone... then, maybe you can allow them free time together.

If you have had the misfortune to be in a "divided" household and hold the "middle" line... you will have perfected the "foot in both camps" option!

Hey Superboy, your simple story made my eyes moist.

Exactly as I felt.

I am happy and in a "Civil Partnership"... as I write my Dear ol' Dad is coping with dementia and having to face the blood issue due to a rupture in his groin. For his sake, I have kept a low profile... and have not even aired the issue of the ring on my finger.

Man, does it hurt. We are "normal"... just remember (if you still believe in a god).... "God made us this way... and God, does not make mistakes."

This night a dream made me cry

this night was a painful one.

i had a very emotional dream and woke up realise that i was crying emotional.. in my dream my past 43 years did go by with all my close family and ended abruptly after i had to tell my paralyzed brother that we were the only two left and that our parents died.. because he can't talk, he only could express himself with his facial expression in his small room of an institute.

it seems something is going on with me, it feels painful and i think it has to do something with our believe background.. wish me luck to deal l with it.. gorby.

The day before yesterday I woke up to a News report of a young, 9 year old girl, sent by her brother and family to an army checkpoint in Afghanistan. She was wearing a Suicide vest, and had been told she would kill the Soldiers but her life would be spared. It riled me up... that poor girl... she sought help and there was a debate whether to send her back to her family. She would surely be used as an instrument of destruction again... and used as an abused skivvy for life. It filled me with anger and a sense of hopelessness.

I am male and 58.... but that night I woke up screaming in a nightmare... my partner found it difficult to shake me out of it.

In that dream, I was a little (white) girl, determined to face up to my oppressor... a male dressed in desert garb and with facial covering. He removed the material to reveal his cruel and hateful face... and I screamed for help.

As a boy... the "fear of Jehovah" and in a divided household ruled me. Whatever I did, was not good enough... and I was held in by fear until my mid twenties.

The links are still raw in my brain... and at night... the connections make all sorts of strange hook ups... when heartfelt stories provoke it.

Fill your mind with delightful things during the day, avoid stimulants and renin (cheese especially) after 8pm... and your links should produce a calmer night's sleep.

The Pastor of my Old Church Tried to Re-Convert Me Yesterday

yesterday evening my wife and i were invited to friends house for new year's eve.

we met them when i was a christian and we have kept in touch.

they had a few other friends there as well, including the new church pastor and his wife.

Hey Cofty: My comments were meant to bolster your original reasoning! I was simply quoting from a report on the Psychological effects of the 2004 Tsunami on the various faith groups in the Indian Ocean basin. The reasoning of the Pastors of Christendom and Imams of Islam were weak by comparison to the acceptance of being part of a "Universe", with cycles of birth and death.... amongst the Buddhists

It was the measure of psychological strength I was referring to. And, in that sense, that particular group (the Buddhists) appear to have recovered better when compared to others. I was done with wasting time dogma and doctrine bashing, when I left the WT some 30 years ago.

If you want to pin the tail on my donkey, I guess you can label me Agnostic.

Atheism holds no water for me. There is some purpose in the design of the Universe... I remain to be convinced as to what it is.

I found it interesting to read about the psychological impact on parents and children after that Tsunami. The main faith groups of the Indian Ocean basin are Islam, Christianity and Buddhism.

Of these groups the impact was worse amongst the Muslims, who found such a tragedy, incompatible with the actions of an all loving "god". The next group, most traumatised, were the Christians. These, Cofty, struggled with explanations as you so admirably put to text.

However, those who seemed to come to terms with the tragedy and loss the most... were the Buddhism. It was "mummy and daddy's" time to rejoin the Universe. Their "spirits" lived in the trees and they would accept that it would be their time one day to rejoin the rest of the Universe. The hurt prevailed, but it was not attributed to an all wise and loving Creator. Simply, that we are part of a "whole" Universal cycle. Our destiny is influenced greatly by our Genes and our Circumstances.

When we can, we move away from danger... we don''t build hospitals on the San Andreas fault line, for example!)... and do our best to string out our existence.

Of course, if You are a dyed in wool Atheist... you don't have the luxury of any such reasoning. Maybe that is why Atheists have the lowest retention rate of their Young ( and you guessed it, the JW kids are not far behind!).

i have just enjoyed the new year concert from vienna.

nothing like the "blue danube" to get the whole world rising to a waltz!.

let's hope the whole world enjoys a lift of the heart.. and the "lions will sleep with the lambs" one day.. and all of us put our differences aside.. peace and good will to all those reading these words.
