  I agree. At the same time, I do think there is something larger at work. A Genie we probably can't get back in the bottle. A disconnect between us and our fellows. A lack of community. An over harried lifestyle.

  Seems like most of these guys plan to be dead after the deed. This guy and the Norway guy planned on being alive. Seems they have a need to be heard.

  The blame for this rests on the head of ONE PERSON who made the decision to take innocent lives. No gun control law would have stopped him. No law against deploying improvised chemical munitions in an enclosed area would have stopped him. No law against improvised explosive devices would have stopped him from booby-trapping his apartment.

  You most certainly are. Of course people will mention Columbine. And Virginia Tech, and Norway etc. etc. etc. So? You are worried that by him mentioning Columbine, people may consider them in closer proximity than they are? Who gives a damn?

  I took Oompa's comment to be sympathy for a region that has had more than it's share of tragedy.
