Mmmm yes, maybe you should read the entire article.
As for religious zealotry, when you are denying what 95% of Professionals and just plain common sense tells you, what do you call it?
.....states that there is 95% certainty climate change is man made.
people are still saying we don't need to do anything about it.. if you were told there is a 95% risk of you dying if you don't change your diet, wouldn't you change your diet?.

a thought that occurs to me is that if one has the belief that all that is real is only explicable in terms of particles and forces, and that nothing exists that is not one of these, then good and bad doesnt exist either, the same would be true for any concept for that matter.
or perhaps it is only true when reduced to the level of matter and forces, but without the moral force, meaning and purpose that such a materialist only description would entail.
after all, if death is forever, which is materialist view, then what does it matter if a seventy or seven year old enters the grave?

Seriously Metatron??? A blog from someone calling themselves "rat", with "As reported by Fox News" their only credited source?

Oh good grief!!! The guy that regained his faith because of a good run of poker! LOL

What does any of this have to do with "different types of atheist"?

You sound a bit like a previous poster here Seraphim. Do you Wibble?

Sorry hon, you're far more invested in this subject than I am. I'm totally comfortable with my position (and have been for 30 years). You obviously are not.
Pope is cool though. I'm sure it's all about membership, but if it does some good, more power to him.

If you could press a button turning all theists into atheists would you press it?
Possibly.
For many that same peace is attained by communing with their Creators.
I talk to my Mom every day. Dad is sleeping.

Sorry LT, I'm not interested in the hypotheticals of god. I don't believe, and I don't believe my life is diminished accordingly. I think it actually might do the world a lot of good to put the whole notion aside.
I am impressed with the new Pope though.
