A majority of Americans disapprove of the Republicans in Congress, yet the odds remain in the party’s favor that it will retain control of the House. One big reason the Republicans have this edge: their district boundaries are drawn so carefully that the only votes that often matter come from fellow Republicans.
The 2010 elections, in which Republicans won the House majority and gained more than 700 state legislative seats across the nation, gave the party the upper-hand in the process of redistricting, the once-a-decade redrawing of congressional seats. The advantage helped them design safer partisan districts and maintain their House majority in 2012 -- even as they lost the presidential race by about 5 million votes. Also nationwide, Democratic House candidates combined to win about 1.4 million more votes than Republicans, according to data compiled by Bloomberg News.

You Can't Ignore Fiscal Responsibilities!!!
by minimus inthere's just so much $$$ that people have.. the obama government continues to ignore simple mathematics, and you can't just keep adding taxes and increase fees and simply believe that everyone with a brain will think it's lovely..

Dog, tell that "study" to the people who are sick of being taxed to death. I'm sure they will be very encouraged.
Who exactly are these people Min?

Sorry, you can't borrow more money you can't repay to offset previous debt you can't repay and call it a win.
I didn't call it a win, I simply clarified what raising the debt ceiling is.
So rather than "growing", we are seeing consistent positive rather than negative numbers. Though they may be low.
The bottom line is that no good is going to come from the GOP's current stunt.

Letter to the Honorable John Boehner providing an estimate for H.R. 6079, the Repeal of Obamacare Act
What Is the Impact of Repealing the ACA on the Federal Budget?
Assuming that H.R. 6079 is enacted near the beginning of fiscal year 2013, CBO and JCT estimate that, on balance, the direct spending and revenue effects of enacting that legislation would cause a net increase in federal budget deficits of $109 billion over the 2013–2022 period. Specifically, we estimate that H.R. 6079 would reduce direct spending by $890 billion and reduce revenues by $1 trillion between 2013 and 2022, thus adding $109 billion to federal budget deficits over that period.

attempting to raise its debt ceiling yet again in order to create more debt
This is incorrect. The debt ceiling is being raised to meet debt already incurred.
As for subsidies, why is health care for Americans more objectionable than tax breaks for the ultra wealthy, subsidies for agriculture and oil companies etc. etc. etc.?
The deficit is shrinking and the economy is growing. Retailers are expecting higher sales this holiday season..........................All this is in jeopardy if the GOP continues this stupid shut down and threatens default.

No, Simon, the "terrorists" care about fiscal responsibilities. You and your crew sound just don't understand how the Democrats' out of control spending is wreaking havoc here in America.
Ummmm not actually true Min. If you look at numbers going back decades, the reality is that the Democrats have been more fiscally responsible.

Like I said, money will be an issue. Libtards can't understand this Until they THEYare affected.
Unlike Republicans who don't care about anyone else and how they are affected? My quote option isn't coming up
The thing is Simon that it is actually Blue states that pay more in tax dollars and Red states that recieve more in benefits. So essentially I am helping to support Minimus

Except that it's bogus. It's one of those mass Emails that was going around during the health care debates (2009?). There is no "United Nations International Health Organization".
Oooops, should have hit submit before getting my coffee!

It will take time to perfect any new, large system. What is not going to help anyone is trying to repeal reform before it's even had a chance to change anything and trying to shoot the economy in the knee caps as a form of retribution
