  JW mother wants to send her son to a mental institute for being atheist & wanting to go to college

  i am not sure if this was posted before.

  i am the mother of an 10 year old and i would have never treated my son like this for wanting to go to college, believes in evolution & is an atheist...i am disgusted how this jw mother can't see how her son has the freedom of thought or religion.... this poor kid most likely does not do drugs or is in a street gang, he just wants to go to college for crying out loud.... this is insane, just shows how a religion or organization blinds all logic from you... it's a cult..... i know there are many cult jws parents out there who would do this, its insane and disgusting.... where is the love you say you should have towards your children?

  Khaleesi its impossible for jw's to accept you have a brain of your own and fully capable of making your own decisions without the 7 men in Brooklyn making it for you.

  Something has to be wrong with you. Thats the only justifiable way they can understand in their conditioned minds.

  For example my FIL implied that I was a paranoid schizo because I no longer wanted any part of the religion and also because i called him out on his blatant disrespect and busybody noiseness in my marriage and personal religious decision.

  To him, standing up for myself and talking back to a man equated craziness in the head. Its unheard of in the patriarchal religion therefore it doesnt surprise me that this woman equates her child as mental for thinking on his own.

  Its a sad reality waking up and having family still trapped in the borg mindset.

  so here is the thing, i love trousers/pants always have even as a kid i was such a tom boy, always up trees, covered in mud, skate boarding you know the adhd type (basically off my tree out of control) as i got older i still liked my trousers, it's what i'm comfortable in that & p.j's.

  i love my p.j's.

  so i hated that every time i went to the hall i had to wear a stupid skirt.

  My feelings closly resemble everything LITS wrote in his post.

  I literally felt like I wasted my whole life. It was a horrible feeling and even worse knowing that you are the only one in your whole family that knows the real truth and that they wouldn't believe you if you even tried to talk about it with them....

  Just to add, my MIL is the smartest woman unlike her husband that cant even keep his pants on straight without her assistance. He acts like he cant do a thing on his own yet I watch how he talks to her like she is less than nothing sometimes all to assert his male dominance and headship role. She just takes it submissively although half the time I know she just wants to tell him where to shove it.

  She puts up with alot of crap as a jw wife that I never agreed with. My hubby knows not to try that mess with me but it sure makes me mad that many jw women will take this type of treatment and not say a word. Ugggghh

  Khaleesi watching that load of crap makes me even more happy about my decision to leave this sexist religion behind. I was never the submissive type anyway but I always did my best to be humble and subservient in the presence of men. I really cant believe I brought into this crap. What kind of logic is that for him to say that if a women says she would do something different if she was an an elder that shes automatically a homosexual.

  God the more I learn about this religion from an outside perspective the more I hate it.
